The mod is a conservative. Of course they are going to see your 1% comment as partisan. After all, there are only two parties and you are apparently required to identify with one or the other.

I for one, reject them both. Using G. Washington's farewell address regarding party loyalties as one pillar of reasoning...

You are not allowed to step outside their rigidly confined thought boxes. Pick a side, if you don't, we'll pick one for you. LOL

Even if you spend part of every day denouncing the diseased bodies both parties have devolved into.. It will still be seen by them as partisan... They can't or won't see anything from any other perspective.
 
It's because the Tavern is an intentionally non-political and non-debate forum. Your post violated the spirit of that. Furthermore, this thread is probably better suited for the Binky subforum of the basement as it specifically addresses Tavern etiquette and regulation. You'd probably get a more thorough and satisfactory response there.

You could have posted what you did pretty much anywhere else in this forum except the Tavern and nobody would have batted an eye about it.

As far as partisanship is concerned, in comparison to the "average" OP around here, your comment was uncharacteristically tame.

But you put it in the one place where partisanship of any sort is only tacitly tolerated and then only when it sort of slips in to the conversation naturally.

Making a flat-out partisan comment in the OP is hardly a natural and unavoidable progression of the conversation.

It really boils down to a simply matter of you disregarding the rule.

If you did so inadvertently then you should have taken the moderator's correction with equanimity.

If you did it deliberately then you should have expected this outcome.

Either way, just shake the sand out of your female reproductive parts and get over yourself.

Neither "sheeple" nor "the 1%" is in any way partisan. Both abound in each of the major parties. It's unAmerican who needs to shake the sand out of his female reproductive parts.

"Anyone catch that Mets game last night?"

Those are the kinds of apolitical, nonpartisan, innocuous discussions that the Tavern is intended for.

It's a place for people who participate here to enjoy the company of folks they're familiar with while at the same time getting away from the non-stop, 24/7 discussion of politics, or any other topic under the sun from, a political perspective.

How hard is it, really, to simply respect that kind of rule, and then have enough respect for yourself to not attention whore when you get your peepee slapped for ignoring it?

Clearly you expected everyone to agree with you, hold your hand, and commiserate with you over what a big meanie that evil Mod was.
