Cpac 2016

That is true. My point is simply that the burden of going to a website and verifying an ID or number is.... pretty light. If I hire Joe(se?), and I have an iPhone, it's a matter of two minutes.

That should also be the case for satisfying a UBGC law for buying a gun but it is not.

Here in Canada, you can sponsor an elderly parent but you have to accept full financial responsibility for them and I believe they have to be in the country 10 years before they are eligible for any social benefits.

Heya CJ. :2wave: Yeah Bush says deportation is out of the question for 11 mil. Told it like it is there. So set up a path.....but no benefits. Glad to see he is on with them learning to speak English.

One again Rand Paul was treated like a Rock Star by the young. Even with his comments about not engaging ISIS.

You mean a website where anybody, including identity-theiving criminals, can go look up the SSN of a citizen?

What could possibly go wrong?

Of course they will soon require adding the payment amount to get IRS into the loop. ;)

Like or dislike Jeb Bush, hate his last name, etc., but make no mistake that if Jeb Bush is in the race there will be an adult discussion about the issues that face America and he won't back down from the difficult problems. He's the type of man who's prepared to lose if his way isn't the way the party or the country wants to go. You'll hear many of the others avoid the questions or pander with useless soundbites, but when the time comes - and I'm looking forward to the Republican debates and then the Presidential debates - the pretenders won't get away without taking a stand.

He is definitely saying all the right things. He moves the topic to his platform. And from what I have seen so far, you are right, he won't fold his agenda for the sake of winning.

He is confident as well, but on image I am surprised. I expected slick, polished and ambivalent. He has odd mannerisms which somehow give him sincerity even though turning away from the questioner, looking around and so forth usually turn people off.

I suspect the Dems are frightened of this guy, they have been dissing him since 2004.

Yeah, and he reminded all he did write a Book on Immigration. So I would say so far he is the Strongest on that issue.

Mornin Ttwtt. :2wave: Here is what Bush had to say. I watched it in breaks. I really didn't hear to many talk about much in detail with Immigration.

"....We have to re-establish relations with our traditional......we've manged to mess up almost every relationship we have, if you think about it.....including Canada, which is hard to do..but we've done it...."

Considering the question was about defeating ISIS, I suggest this is the kind of thinking you need in the White House. You can't keep allies in a war when you're stabbing them in the back.

I need to point out that the name Bush doesn't sit to well in Canada...his brother cost this country 10,000 jobs in the softwood lumber dispute then wondered why we said 'take a hike' when he needed help with Iraq.

Where he isn't strong he shows depth...."I like..so and so's idea...."

He's willing to look at alternatives and other people's ideas. Everything Obama is Obama's...

Yeah I don't see any with Cruz or Paul.....Santorum needs to drop out too.

Glad to hear Rand Paul won ... yet again. The absolutely best thing that can happen is for Cruz, Santorum and the other right wingers to stand down and throw all their support behind Paul. Then the other moderate to conservatives can get behind Bush and put a royal screw job to Paul treating him like crap all through the primaries and angering his supporters and those on the far right of the party. The nomination will be decided for all practical purposes in April and that gives Paul plenty of time to run as a third party right wing savior.

HAHA I don't think this post is serious.

Its always fun to watch CPAC....because its Republicans trying their hardest to see who can come across as the wackiest of the wackos. Pure entertainment!

Oh give it a break.....trying their hardest. Whatever you do.....don't give up that day job. As like always..... ya just don't have what it takes to be a comedian. Just sayin.

oh trust me my friend - it is 100% dead on serious.

Rand Paul doesn't stand a chance of winning the Nominee. Not unless all those on the Right just don't vote. Besides all don't have a full day just to hear him spout off with 3 Paragraphs that takes his lame ass all day to finish.

I agree that Paul stands no chance of getting nomination. In my scenario he does not get the nomination. Again - here it is

I wont mind if he runs a third party.....that just means he will be an absolute failure. The Best Rand Paul can do.....is keep his mouth shut and hold that Kentucky Seat. Anything else.....shows he is a waste of time and peoples money.

Just watch them.....they are falling over each other trying to convince the fringiest of the fringe that they are more crazy ass bat-wing waocko than the next guy. It is one of my favorite times of the political year. The GOP always inflicts major damage on themselves and their candidaes during CPAC that they have to carry with them throughout the entire campaign.

Didn't look that way with Pence, Bush or Jindal.....besides 3 or 4 Repubs just aren't as funny as Biden is. Good thing he didn't switch over.

I didn't see Jinal or Pence....but they don't have any shot anyway. I did see Bush and you are right. Seems like Bush played it pretty smart and learned from the past mistakes of other GOP top tier candidates. Romney never recovered from selling his soul and integrity at CPAC....thought he had a magic etch-a-sketch that he could use to reinvent himself again....but the damage was already inflicted. Bush paid a small price....ended up way down in the straw polling because he didn't engage in the wackiness. Probably will help him in the long run.

Well he did come in 5th......but then they aren't really going after each other at CPAC.

I did put up what Pence had to say in the thread.

What did you think was wacky by Paul and Walker?

Then there was Jindal. Who went Right after the GOP leaders.

Jindal: GOP leaders in Congress fear repealing health law......

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Saturday called congressional Republican leaders "fearful" of acting to fully repeal President Barack Obama's health care law.

"It's leadership and other members who, I think, are fearful of being criticized for putting anything out there that could be attacked. If not, why wouldn't we have had a vote by now?" he told reporters at the anti-tax Club for Growth's winter meeting. "I would hope, though, that we're honest enough to say, we campaigned on getting rid of Obamacare."

The Club for Growth is influential in Republican campaigns. It conducts thorough reviews of candidates' records on spending, taxes and budgets, and it makes recommendations to its members. Its political action committee has also emerged as a factor in recent campaigns, spending money on behalf of and against Republican candidates.....snip~

Hmmmmm....lets see. We can start with Walker's idiotic "I can take on ISIS because I took on labor unions". That was pretty wacko.
