How Obama’s approval rating compares to other notable presidents

Father and son had the steepest fall - both war criminals.
Obama had the least fall - he was just a passenger in the White House.

How Obama's approval rating compares to other notable presidents - Business Insider

LOL !!

" War Criminals " ? How on earth can there still be ADULTS who still believe that Bush " lied us into war " or that he should be prosecuted for war crimes.

Unbelievable.

After Obama's multiple Foreign Policy disasters there are STILL people who are obsessed with Bush and with the 10 year old false narratives that led to the election of Obama.

Gee whiz Wally - why ya think Obama's highest rating is lower than the previous ten presidents highest rating?

A more polarized society? Same reason his low-water mark is higher than anyone else's on the list.

Leeme guess--racism, right? Too bad Fenton posted before you did, otherwise you could have tied a record for playing the race card in post #2. Don't get me wrong, haymarket, post #3 is still impressive however.

Pretty lame accusing someone who never mentioned race of playing the race card.

His comment sailed right over your head. What a surprise.

And IF this factor of RACISM does play a role in these ratings, why would you find it somehow disturbing to be honestly and openly discussed?

That is a solid point. It seems that we no longer have the great body of Americans who are willing to give a President a chance and see how it works out before deciding if they love him or hate him. That trend is not a good one for our nation.

I wouldn't expect you to honestly discuss it. In fact, I don't think liberals are capable of an open and honest discussion of race.

NO - what the right wing tries to do is make sure the discussion never gets started so their own views do not have to be clearly explained and make them look bad. So they throw out this nonsense about the race card as a pre-emptive strike. Sorry - but its not working.

LOL, right. Liberals inject race into EVERYTHING. You know, just as you did here. But I would be curious as to how my views on race would make me look bad. I suspect it is because of the inherent dishonesty in the liberal 'discussion' of race. Liberals like you think everyone on the right is racist. That just shows how little you really know about anything and why I am correct that it is impossible to have an honest discussion of race with a liberal.

Perhaps if you would be honest enough to give us all our views on race then I could better answer your question.

Maybe you could begin on topic - do you believe that the race of the President has not anything to do with these numbers being lower at the start than the previous ten US Presidents who were all white?

Race has nothing to do with Obamas 64% approval rating. Just as race had nothing to do with Reagans approval rate of 68%. Nor does race have anything to do with the statistically insignificant difference between the two numbers. It is of interest to race obsessed liberals and no one else.

Gee whiz Wally - why ya think Obama's highest rating is lower than the previous ten presidents highest rating?

Obviously because he's black. If he was white his approval rating would be 135%.

Baloney!!! It's the same with guns. The liberals don't want to discuss. They want to lecture.

Ah - I see .... its a nonfactor in American life. Got it.:doh

Too bad you see it that way. I wonder why you do?

Probably the same reason his low score is the best since 1968. He is very polarizing on many fronts.

More dishonesty. At least you are consistent.

So you tell me then - is race a factor or a non-factor in American life and that includes politics?

I would agree with that as I did a previous poster who said much the same thing. Now the discussion needs to get around to the reasons WHY.

OK, we could start with the obvious. There is some support and some disapproval based on his race. Moving away from that, unlike his 2004 convention speech he has proven to be a more effective divider than a uniter. His policies on foreign affairs, the economy seem to look for discord versus consensus.

And how much of the lack of approval do you suspect is race based?

I really have no idea. Depending on which cable channel you watch it is either close to zero or huge.

I would also note that just about any poll that is political in nature and sums to 100% or close is inaccurate. As there is a large percentage of respondents who are not well informed on the issue(s) they are being asked about. So in this survey if you asked people why they held whatever views, they would have a hard time being specific.
