Did Obama throw Sony Under the Bus?

Naturally this mornin'. The North Koreans had to issue their own little warning.


North Korea says did not hack Sony, wants joint probe with U.S......


SEOUL/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - North Korea said U.S. accusations that it was involved in a cyberattack on Sony Pictures were "groundless slander" and that it was wanted a joint investigation into the incident with the United States. An unnamed spokesman of the North's foreign ministry said there would be "grave consequences" if Washington refused to agree to the joint probe and continued to accuse Pyongyang, the official KCNA news agency reported on Saturday.

In its first substantive response to the accusation, the isolated North Korea said it could prove it had nothing to do with the massive hacking attack. We propose to conduct a joint investigation with the U.S. in response to groundless slander being perpetrated by the U.S. by mobilizing public opinion," the North Korean spokesman said. "If the U.S. refuses to accept our proposal for a joint investigation and continues to talk about some kind of response by dragging us into the case, it must remember there will be grave consequences," the spokesman said.

Despite Obama's stern warning to North Korea, his options for responding to the computer attack by the impoverished state appeared limited. The president declined to be specific about any actions under consideration.....snip~

Well he had to know that Sony was on CNN. Admitting they informed the White House from the beginning.

He might want to go back to proof-reading those speeches first before he decides to pop off on it.

Obama will likely tell us that he never said that Sony did not talk with anyone in his administration - Obama only said that had Sony talked to him (directly) that he would have advised them to act differently. Of course, releasing a new movie requires that theaters would actually want to show it; a third rate, low budget, political comedy is not exactly at the top of those theaters' Christmas list. The real motivation for Sony altering the release date (and calling the White House) may have been to assure added free publicity to increase public (and thus theater) demand for that cheesy movie. ;)

One cannot invent wild conspiracies about someone and, when it don't make any sense, claim "it only needs to make sense to him". That's nonsense. It needs to make sense to us as well.

Its simple.....did Sony talk to those in the White House? If so, then BO peep shouldn't be out saying that Sony should have talked to him first.

You're claiming Obama did, even personally, speak with Sony (presumably telling them not to release the movie) and then he turns around and denies it, now giving the opposite advice and chastising them. That's diabolical.

Why?

Re-read the thread again.....no where did I say Obama spoke with Sony. CNN confirmed that Sony spoke with those at the White House from the beginning with the hacks. BO peep came out later and then said they/Sony should have talked to him first.

You do understand that he's referring to the specific decision regarding the release. His claim is that Sony did not get the message the White House was sending regarding that.

So, yeah...I'm not surprised he would lie about Sony not talking to him and like NK, I'm sure, I take with a grain of salt any of his tough words about responding to this attack on our country.
