Child poverty up in America by 1.7 million since 2008

If all boats had been lifted in the tide, you wouldn't see an increase in poverty.

And if the top boat increases more than the bottom, we will see an increase in inequality with a decrease in poverty. Your causal claim is BS.

The top quintile's increase in income has not lifted the bottom out of poverty. Those at the bottom have not made any gains whatsoever, but rather have lost a lot of ground. The tide rising for all philosophy espoused from the conservatives is BS.

None of that changes the fact that your causal claim was, is and always will be BS. Simple stats is enough to see this.

Um, the stats show that the top quintile has made gains while the bottom has lost gains. That proves my point:doh

The top's income has been increasing. The working class and middle class incomes have been stagnate, the lowest quintile has lost ground for decades. If all boats had been lifted in the tide, you wouldn't see an increase in poverty.

You can thank Obama and his QE for that

The minimum wage has not decreased. Wages went down more for the middle class

Um, I didn't say the minimum wage decreased but it certainly doesn't have the same buying power it had decades ago. It has far less and that is what causes poverty to rise.

Then blame Obama. Obama has been doing fund raisers with the rich for over 6 years. Do you really think Obama gets their money with no pay back

This is hopeless. You are making a false causal claim. Anyone that's taken a stat class knows this. Good day.

No government handouts and a bad economy and no jobs does that

It certainly doesn't help.

It is because of Obama's failed policies that poverty has increased. Under Obama we had the longest sustained high unemployment since the great depression and the slowest economic recovery since the great depression

While he hasn't done much to help the situation, it is highly partisan to solely blame him for a whole paradigm shift in economic policy since the 1970s.

The President (any President, for that matter) has far less influence than the public credits them with. When conservatives say this crap, it reminds me of liberals whining about Hoover and the Great Depression.

So the EPA and the Justice department and other department have no influence. Plus the fact business is going overseas because we have the highest corporate taxes among industrialized nations.

No influence is not the same thing as pointing child poverty increases to the President. There is influence, but only an idiot would prevent the rest of society to be blamed.

And so did other presidents before him.

Yet they did not have the slowest economic recovery since the great depression and the longest sustained high unemployment since the great depression. Only Obama gets the credit for that

So you are making excuses for Obama's failed policies and his incompetence and his lack of leadership
