I always get a good laugh when I hear how its the republicans who bow to the rich, give them special favors, and maybe even let them get away with crimes. But Mark Rich was a big-time white collar criminal who had been found guilty of the biggest tax evasion in US history at that time, and he had been involved in illegally buying/selling oil from Iran during the hostage crisis. He is a very wealthy, very corrupt scumbag. But Eric Holder recommended pardoning him and releasing him from prison, and as deputy attorney general then, he helped Clinton make it happen.

Remember, Mark Rich's wife Denise had given over 1 million dollars to dems, and $450,000 to the Clinton presidential library, and $100,000 to Hillary's senate run. This guy made deals with dictators for personal gain, and after being pardoned, he got involved illegally in the Iraq "oil for food" program, by illegally buying oil from Saddam, allowing him to build more palaces, buy more weapons, and use them to further oppress his own people!

I have been watching a few liberal historians recently as they keep claiming that we cant judge politicians(dems) now, we must wait til after their terms are over, and let history be the judge, by looking back at their "legacy". This story is a perfect example of how historians and media types will bury examples of corruption and greed, in order to help cement artificially positive legacies. I bet most people had no idea about this, or who mark Rich really is..... What if this had been done by a deputy attorney general and president who were republicans? I am pretty sure the media would make sure most Americans were aware of it! IN fact, the left would have used this very scandal as a legit reason to prevent that republican deputy attry general from being appointed to attorney general!

But instead, Holder was rarely criticized by the media, even when he stated that most Americans are cowards. Seems to me, it would have proven bravery on his part to make sure a corrupt white collar criminal like Mark Rich did his sentence and wasnt released to commit more crimes, simply in exchange for money..... However, Holder did work bravely to protect Obama from accountability, and bravely worked to intimidate those who disagreed with Obama in the media and in society, using threats and even bogus prosecutions, like when he lied to high judges claiming a Fox News journalist was a spy in order to get permission to wiretap his phones and spy on his emails...... Of course he hadnt done anything wrong, and they were essentially shamed into ceasing their actions....

Clinton laid out an excellent case for the pardon here.
