If you were to believe the liberals in the media and the democratic party, as well as the countless left wing websites, you'd think that having huge waves of new illegal and legal immigrants pouring over the border is a positive in just about every way for this country. You'd also believe that amnesty will be a very positive thing, because according to them, and according to uber-wealthy capitalist liberals like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, we desperately need more workers, because we just have so many extra jobs to give away to tens of millions of new immigrants. Another piece of propaganda that is used goes something like this, "We are a nation of immigrants, and our forefathers immigrated here for work, therefore we need more immigrants now". Well, that is partially true, in that we are all immigrants, but when our forefathers came here before and during the great industrial revolution, America was a GROWING economy that was constantly producing new factories and industries all over the place. Well, is that true now? Of course not!
This country is hemorrhaging jobs and industry! The situation now is the opposite of what it once was. Thats true, and its not just propaganda. We have been losing our industrial base for over a decade now, so when you buy a product, most likely it will NOT be made in America, even though 10 years ago it would have been! Now we have college grads working at jobs that dont require college educations. We have blue collar Americans who have lost millions of jobs to the illegals already here, or have seen their wages drop! All the while, the dollar is now worth less than before, and costs for everything have gone up!
I was listening to the Dick Morris show a few weeks ago, and he had a guy from an immigration studies firm on, and this guy pointed out that more jobs have gone to people born outside of America than in America in the last 14 years, by a longshot! Just 3 years ago, the construction industry saw an umemployment rate in the mid to high teens, and at that very moment, 19% of the employed construction workers were illegal immigrants, which proves that illegals are taking jobs from Americans!
On another thread I started a couple weeks ago pertaining to immigration, one poster disagreed with me that illegals are a problem. He said that they pay taxes and they buy stuff, which means more jobs. Thats a very simplistic view, and its partly false, and the benefit is vastly overstated. The fact is, most illegals are blue collar workers. More than half dont have a high school diploma, and most are unskilled. That means low paying jobs, which means they will pay little to no income taxes!
Also, they have more kids once they get here than any other race, even though they really cant afford it. Thats because we as a country will support their family and kids in many or most ways. We will partly or fully subsidize their health care. We will pay all of their education, at an average cost of around $10,000-$20,000 per year, per child, for 13 years! We will likely pay welfare and food stamps for 50% or more, because approx 55% get it now. For every 600-1000 new immigrant kids, we will have to pay to build a new elementary school, then a new middle school, then a new high school. We will have to hire more gov't workers, more teachers( a boon for liberals BTW), and more police, all at middle class taxpayer expense. We will have to spend lots of money to teach people in gov't departments to speak Spanish(apparently its unfair to expect immigrants to learn our language, so we must learn theirs). We will have to hire more health care workers(all these new jobs at taxpayer or health care insurance payer expense). Sound like a financial windfall for America?
Now the legal issues. With poverty comes crime, regardless of race, and because they are mostly poor and we will have to build more gov't housing(re: projects) for millions of immigrants, that leads to more crime. There is a huge gang component here. There are a few major Latino gangs that terrorize many cities. Then there's the newer wave of kidnapping for ransom in southwestern cities like Phoenix, where illegals from cartels kidnap people for ransom. Then theres the drug trafficking, then there's the destruction and pollution of pristine state parks lands by marijuana growing illegal immigrants for the cartels, or by illegals coming through the deserts. Then there's the 2 million illegals that falsely claim non-existent dependents for child tax credits, which is like a taxpayer funded grant check of thousands of bucks per year for 2 million illegals who lie about having dependents.
Besides all that, the notion that we dont have a right to protect ourselves and our own jobs is ridiculous. I bet you the liberals who support amnesty and make these claims arent in any risk of losing THEIR jobs! Ask yourself this: Have we not already done more for these poor people than anyone else on the planet would do, including their own countries? Would their countries ever allow us to take advantage of them in the ways they have of us? Would they gladly give up their own jobs and the future of their own blue collar families for us? I think we all know the answer already. We shouldnt be forced to do it either, and there's nothing racist about wanting to keep your job, keep your family safe, care about your country's financial future, and be able to provide for your own family!
Bill Gates claimed we need many more new worker Visas, just days before (he)his company announced they will be dumping 18,000 American tech workers! Sound like we need more tech workers from overseas really? The democratic party want more illegals here, to be given citizenship for their future votes, and the reality is that your job and the welfare of your family is irrelevant to them, and they get away with that corruption because the media and their base wont hold them accountable for it, because they believe in the myth that we desperately need more immigrants ASAP for all the zillions of jobs floating around! Hard to believe isnt it?
