Laura Ingraham an armed scalp hunter.

What's a RINO? I know what the letters stand for but what makes someone a Republican in Name Only? Is it disagreeing with the platform? Disagree with Republican ideals? Who gets to decide what constitutes Republicanism?

Republicans.

See the finger in the trigger guard ?

It's a dead giveaway that Fenstein is a liberal and doesn't know how to safly handle a firearm. People like her are scarry, they are more likely to shoot a family member or themselfs.

All liberals/progressives who want to exercise their Second Amendment rights should be required to take a 160 hour NRA gun safety program.

Given the potential outcomes, why?

just kidding

Sometimes people on the left promote it to cause dissension in the ranks of the right; sometimes some conservatives believe those who do not think as they do... are labeled Rino... It's difficult to get a clear demarcation on the name calling.

Both parties have their small but noisy radical fringe elements who often become the broad brush with which to derogatorily paint (no matter the party) all who don't tow a specific line. Might be akin to someone suggesting some Libertarians are anarchists because of a slight difference of ideas.

On any side of any aisle there is BS name calling to sway the definition of party purity.... and some maybe should re-align party affiliation.

It's what makes this country great.

Hey TP, how's it going?

You know I always though there was a lot of truth in the saying the far left and the far right have a lot in common. A lot more than either will ever admit. And both sides honestly have rocks in their heads if they think the majority think like them.

They're POSERS who take the middle ground on most issues and have no balls.

So RINOs are anyone who isn't a far right ideologue - which is the majority of people who call themselves Republicans. Okay got it.

I told you what they are...worthless.

Lets see if I can enlighten you.

A RINO (Republican in Name Only) is an officeholder or candidate who is a member of the Republican Party, but holds views to the political left of most Republican voters, or simply does whatever the liberal media wants. The term "RINO" describes politicians who claim to be Republican but are in fact liberal or puppets of the liberal media, and therefore generally debase the winning conservative coalition base of the Republican Party.

RINOs are often Republican only to the extent it serves their own interests, and will abandon conservative principles as soon as it is in their own interests to do so. RINOs often provide support for raising taxes, abortion as a right, gay rights and gun control. Some RINOs have connections with Planned Parenthood or corporations that support goals of population control; other RINOs pay lip service to pro-life values while in practice not advancing those values.

Double standards by RINOs are common: a birther comment by Romney during his campaign was supposedly a "nothing", but Todd Akin's pro-life comment would somehow "absolutely" could cost RINOs control of the U.S. Senate!

RINOs, like Democrats, typically come from states in New England, the Mid-Atlantic; or states on the Left Coast. A less-used term is cafeteria conservative, for a person who picks and chooses which conservative principles to believe, as a person might choose foods in a cafeteria instead of ordering the full-course menu selected by the chef at most restaurants. In contrast to RINO's and cafeteria conservatives, movement conservatives understand that since conservative philosophy is a coherent whole, it is untenable to discard part of it without discarding all of it.

Ah okay. I was thinking the RINO label applied to voters and not candidates. So a RINO is a guy who promises X to get votes but then backs away from that when in office because it might not be in his best interest.

That does bring up a question though. Reality is to get anything done in this country, or any country that isn't a dictatorship for that matter, you have to compromise. Nobody gets everything they want. Is standing on principal worth not getting anything done? I'd answer that question with a qualified yes, fwiw because in my view the government does too much already.

I too have a similar belief. Reading more of the thread, A-R's post #33 is as descriptive as one could find... but I don't know very many who strictly adhere to the entire picture; nor do I know many Dems who are strict adherents to all supposed Dem policies. I do see openly more divisions in the Republicans, though.

Some Conservatives believe I need to "tighten up, get with the program" and some Liberals think I'm a right wing loon; either may add one or more of the favorite "daily pejorative".

Both parties are divided. It is my observation that both parties promote divisiveness within and outside each party; so those in power may stay in power.

Returning to the thread .. Let's not derail it...

Conservative women in broadcasting are wresting vocal power from Liberals and Conservatives alike...

Laura Ingraham will be reckoned with... by both parties.

Have a great day G

:eek:t
Sorry A-R.... I'll get back on L.I. in a moment. She's certainly worthy a discussion.

That is as it should be... Today, I can't think of one "statesman like" person in Congress. In days of yore those abilities were a little more commonplace.
For good or bad, sometimes a Congressman or the party must stop some things from happening.

Some times I wonder if we've had too much "let's just get along and look like we're doing something important" when frequently "getting along" is not the most important goal. Our gov entities were designed to force lawmakers to "duke it out", thereby keeping us generally centered as a nation of laws. .... But now we do not have those who know how to joust.. they bargain and buy favoritism in many forms from whomever they can gain that favoritism.

Biography Of Laura Ingraham

Born on June 19, 1964, Laura Anne Ingraham grew up in a middle class family in Glastonbury. She graduated from the Glastonbury High School in 1981. In 1985, Ingraham earned a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and a law degree in 1991 from the University Of Virginia School Of Law in 1991. Currently syndicated by Talk Radio, the radio show airs throughout the United States. The Laura Ingraham Show is tied for fifth most listened talk show with average weekly listeners of 5.5 million. In May 2008, Ingraham adopted a young girl from Guatemala, and named her Maria Caroline. She has also authored some books including Shut Up and Sing, and Hillary Trap published in October 2003 and December 2005 respectively.

It sounds a lot like Laura Ingraham when she is not talking.
...Infinitely more enlightening.
