This is a very interesting discussion....Of course the left will try and demonize him like they did GWB...I will have o check him out on the issues..Being from Florida he should carry that state as well as the Hispanic vote around the country.
Jeb Bush:
It will be interesting to see what he decides. Although he will have a hard time with the media and the left invariably comparing him to his brother; who is as different from his brother as oil is to water.
I wouldn't worry about the media and the left. His own party has lost the last two presidential elections and I don't think they want to chance it for a third time with a name of Bush that was banned from the 2012 Republican Convention.
The GOP will be the reason that the GOP either wins the White House back or not.
So far, the GOP is doing everything they can do to loose it before they even start.
Yet there are people in the GOP, like me but that are elected officials, that understand that as a party we have to get votes to win, and alienating people by being hard line assholes isn't the way to win an election.
But, what so I know?
My AP Gov teacher thinks he has an advantage in the election just because his name is recognizable. Having a last name like Bush will probably mean less votes, in my opinion.

One would think so. But for every logical, pragmatic person that realizes that, we can point to another person who thinks the GOP isn't asshole enough. It's like rowing one canoe, two directions.
Some folks want another chance at 1964, I guess.
A number of names of politicians and members here come to mind.
To govern, you must get elected. To get elected, you must get votes. To get votes, you must have similar ideals and positions as the voters - or at least a majority of the voters.
What's potentially going to hurt the GOP will be the primaries. Where the loyal indignant hard liners will come out in droves to nominate a person that will alienate the majority of the centrists, the independents and of course the left.
You can't get people to vote for you by telling them that they are idiots or heathens.
There are people who will vote their party line regardless who they run. I would say it's pretty equal that way.
The win is in the hands of the centrists, moderates and independents. The GOP would serve itself better if they could collectively come to terms with that uncomfortable fact. The democrats don't seem to have any trouble playing to the crowd. The GOP better get onboard.

There is no question that Jeb is the smartest of the bushes
There is no question that Jeb is the smartest of the bushes and will make a formidable candidate if he runs.
All you lefties complaining about the Bush name..........How about t he Clinton name?????
