5.6 million people without insurance because of GOP goveners.

ObamaCare Medicaid Expansion

The Medicaid expansion is 100% funded by the feds for the first three years, and then funded at least 90% after that.

And "funded by the feds" means funded by the states and the people. It also means less money in the federal budget for the states and the people.

Thank you for the link.

The Federal Government pays 100% of expansion costs for the first three years and 90% thereafter until 2022.

I'm glad to see that, and it gives me pause.

However, that doesn't speak about the Medicaid portion currently being paid by states. Sometimes, just like when wifey goes shopping, comes home loaded down and says, "Honey!!!!! You won't believe how much money I saved you!!" the husband's answer, like some of the states, is, "Honey!!!!! I can't afford for you to save me another nickel!!" ;)

The "old" portion of Medicaid is subsidized by the Feds at somewhere around 55%. It varies from state to state and ACA doesn't change that formula.

But I don't get the analogy you're making. Health care is not the same as a wife's pair of new but cheap shoes.

I think it's an excellent analogy. I'm sorry it doesn't speak to you.

You might be able to put forward a cogent point IF you had some sort of education first. The FISA ACT (which is the first version of the Patriot Act, which was actually FISA 2) was passed in 1978. The Bill was brought to the Senate by Edward Kennedy (D–MA). Voted through by a democrat House and a democrat Senate and then signed into law by President Jimmy Carter (democrat and definitely left wing).

GW Bush.

So tell me my conservative friends how is it good politics to turn down Medicaid expansion and keep 5.6 million without health care? How is that going to be a winner and how are you going to answer for it when someone dies and the GOP gets blamed and rightfully so. I can just see the adds right now and to think the GOP is doing it out of spite and no other reason because Medicaid expansion does not cost the state a dime. Good luck explaining that one my thick headed conservative friends.

well, i'm neither conservative nor your friend, but i'll chime in.

to say that the expansion doesn't cost states a dime is false....the fed only chips in 100% for the first few years, after that it starts costing the states big money.

your headline is false, btw.... we'll see if you have the capacity to understand why
