GOP Path to Victory--Make Voting Harder

The GOP has been pressing for a much simpler path to victory. Enforce the ACA as written.

THe ACA threads are that way ------->

This thread requires other arguments. Your one trick pony won't work in this, a thread about restricting people's access to voting.

I'm sorry...I thought this was a thread on the GOP and their path to victory. Obviously the best and most sure way of winning electiosn for the GOP is to make the people that support the ACA eat that **** sandwich.

You think they want to ensure victory by making sure people that cast a vote are who they say they are? Thats...sad...

That's what voter ID laws promote. No more precincts voting 100%, no more dead people voting, etc.

We don't exactly have an epidemic of this.

How many cases of actual, real, documented resulting in convictions in a court of law voter fraud have we identified over the last 14 years starting with the election of 2000?

Set parameters much?

Oh, the GOP red herring---Voter Fraud!!

Is that like BenGHAZEEEEE!!!

THe new laws do more than ask for ID. THey also restrict access to the polls by tightening the window for when people can vote.

I keep hearing that, but then we have precincts where one candidate gets 100% of the vote and poll officials find "lost" vote and. *gasp* 100% of those votes are for one guy!

And wouldn't you know in both those cases the votes went to Democrats, so of course you don't have a problem with that.

How is that going to hurt Democratic voters? Most of them don't have jobs, anyway.

MORE fail

A). This regime already refused to federally prosecute a single scammer since the state gave her a nominal punishment. It was posted her on DP.

B). This argument is an opinion since with out ID you have absolutely NO idea how much fraud there is in voting.

I hope this thread moves from its current "Mutual Admiration Society" model.

I'd like them to describe to me, how their mantra that red states have the poorest people and receive more federal money (those that they assume would have the hardest time getting a voter ID; the poor people) and yet they also say that voter ID would harm Democrats and help Republicans?

Their idiotic thought processes just don't track. They need to pick one story and stick to it; either Republicans are poor dumb country hicks that get more federal money than anyone else and would therefor have a harder time getting a voter ID and be disenfranchised, based on the left's reason for opposing voter ID's, or the GOP are rich privileged suppressors of others. They can't be both.

The reason the Democrats oppose voter ID is to allow illegal aliens and other non-citizens to vote, which based on what anyone can see on TV or read in the newspapers, these people would vote for the Democratic party - the party of free giveaway's and openly ignoring immigration laws (sanctuary cities for illegals are but one example).

This is nothing but the Democrats trying to disenfranchise legal citizens votes which are offset by knowingly allowing illegal immigrants, non-citizens that may be hear legally on a visa or those that have legally lost their franchise (like felons or dead people) to vote for Democrats.

It's part of the power base for Democrats, and they are doing whatever they can do to protect that part of their power base. It's damned shameful as well.

sorry if the truth bothers you. But we have a very prominent Republican Pennsylvania politican to thank for revealing the truth about restrictive legislation on voting.

Pennsylvania GOP Leader: Voter ID Will Help Romney Win State

The republican Majority Leader simply got caught saying what he was suppose to keep secret.

Would you REALLY like to measure either party by the occasional thoughtless statements of state/local level functionaries most people have never heard of?:peace

Yeah - what is illegal that must be correct by a new law.

You have a problem with that?

If there's no voter fraud taking place, then you shouldn't have anything to be concerned about.

Feel free to present the stats from a Republican administration then.

Voter fraud can be at a local and state level also. Feel free to present those stats as well.

I have no idea what that means.

Do you favor passing laws to give one party an unfair advantage over the other as Republican Majority Leader Mike Turzai of Pennsylvania stated was the intention of that states new voter laws?

Go ahead and present.

Why shouldn't people be required to prove they are both competent and qualified to vote? These votes have massive effect on our nation.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters on socialism: "Guess what this liberal would be all about? This liberal will be about socializing...uh, um...Would be about, basically, taking over, and the government running all of your companies."

Sorry but I thought we were talking about statements encouraging voter suppression and election manipulation. Like the one from Turzai. I agree that you could fill a library with stupid politician statements on all sorts of subjects.

The point about Turzai's remark is that it's just another stupid utterance that does not reflect on his party as a whole.:peace

My fear is that the whole island (of Guam) will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize. -- Democrat Congressman Hank Johnson

One has to go a ways to top that! Maybe I'll start a thread "Stupid Comments made by Politicians." I wonder how many pages we could fill?

Happy Sunday, Jack! :2wave:
