It would be nice to have an example of both major parties, if you bang on one..
There are plenty of Leans on Debate Politics to slam..
I'll start with electing Senators, one from each party..

DEM >> Remember Blagoyovich trying to sell Obama's seat in IL--he's now in jail
and a Neo-Con RINO, Kirk, won his seat, and helps sustain filibusters..
I call this a wash..
 
Which poster makes DUMB comparisons? Is a junior Senator somehow equivalent to the Senate majority leader? Or was it that a long time an incumbent Senator, not being defeated by someone from the other party, is much the same as the other party winning a vacated seat? Perhaps it is better to gain a seat than simply not to lose a seat. Hmm...
 
Perhaps some GOP posters would rather be down 49--51 in the Senate without thinking before speaking, eh?
 
And now we have the GOP back at each others throats over the "very small" agreement between Ryan and Murray..
While Dems continue their stupidity in trying to help the GOP not implode..

I think its dumb to pose questions and then close your ears to the answers.

But I'll agree that Sharron Angle was possibly a historically dumb move. Opportunity knocked and nobody answered the door. The Tea Party influence is waning and next time, a more moderate choice, may finally unseat Harry.

Speaking of Harry Reid, he is under fire for doing his job - which is to represent NV. After killing thousands of jobs at Yucca Mtn. and putting the nation at risk wit nuclear waste, he finally did something for NEVADA (which will be resented but...). VEGAS RULES: Harry Reid pushed feds to change ruling for casino's big-money foreigners - Washington Times

Politicians are a specifically oblivious group of "humans" so dumbness is pretty much a constant on all sides, at all levels and at all times.

May I ask the point of the thread itself?

i would say this thread will amount to a demonstration that both sides do dumb pretty well. ****, it's hard not to be on this site and just shake your head at the usual suspects that seem able to inject political stupidity in any discussion imaginable, regardless of what their preferred political favor is.
 
To go with your Romney or McCain, I might have added Gore and Kerry for the Dems..
As for representing the GOP, I would have preferred Romney rather than Cruz .

Ideological identification has replaced tribe for all too many people. Politics, for them, is little but an exercise in soldering for their group.
 
it depends on what dumb we are talking about.

If we are talking financially then the dems do dumb better.
If we are talking socially the GOP does dumb better.
If we are talking in general they are both dumb.

When Obama got a dog instead of a cat, I knew this would be a difficult Presidency.

Which President presided over the best times? Never mind before or after, just the years of their Presidency? Bill Clinton. Why? Socks (although he backstabbed Socks later on).

Such as Akin and Mourdock on "legitimate" rape in 2012..
For Dems, the dropping of the ball in the 2010 elections may live with them for decades, especially since the same thing happened in 1990

Absolutely--Harry will become more and more a lame duck himself as Elizabeth Warren takes over..
I would have been pleased for the Dems to hold the Senate and see Harry go, just to take another GOP weapon off the table..
As for the GOP, where were you on Heller and Berkley and Adelson's money influence ?
 
Politicians are like your visiting dummy who "ain't seen nuttin," "ain't heard nuttin'," "don't know nuttin," but all your silver and china is gone and dummy is flush with cash. A natural born politician who just lost his job puttin' wheels on miscarriages. Gonna get new work "saving the World," tomorrow. Just ask him/her.

I didn't vote for Heller but I think he is fairly representative of my state although I certainly don't agree with all his positions. We tend to elec moderate Republicans. We are undergoing changes in the South of NV because of all the Southern Californians moving here to escape CA and then wanting to make NV like CA. Except for the terrible mistake of putting all our eggs in the casino baket (and we can certainly thank Harry for that), we're otherwise a reasonably well run state.

Shelley Berkley got on my nerves after her 100th robocall (and her annoying voice) so I didn't vote for her in the last election. I voted 3rd party all the way because of my distress with both parties. I know you think it is wrong to "blame both parties" but I do, and that is my right.

Adelson. I have no kind words for him. I wa happy to see him lose a few hundred million backing Romney. Not that he can't easily afford it.

Have they always owned your brothels and blackmailed politicians??
Do you like the influence of Salt Lake City on California Prop 8??
Should the Church be helping individual Mormons to over-bid for land in states neighboring Utah??

Would you agree that the quality of the Mormon family with a large number of well-brought-up children is a model for the USA??
As well, do you share my feeling as to how well the state of Utah uses its resources, with its recent history of excellent governors??

President Socks is the last decent President we had.

Personally when it comes to dumb, I can't tell the difference between the two parties. Slight edge to Republicans who lack the filter to not talk about "legitimate rape." Which doesn't mean the Democrats are smarter, they just have slightly better social graces right now.

I've seen Sahara sitting idle and can't see what is wrong with the foreign investors combining with JP Morgan Chase..
