My Bucket List For 2013, 14, 15, 16…

Naw, my work is done here, got what I wanted, a response from the radicals who believe it is ok to force their ideology on everyone else whether it be the killing of the unborn, same sex marriage, legalization of drugs but then challenge any discussion of religion while ignoring that this country was built on Christian values and Christian culture. I am totally at peace with my belief and am able to reconcile my position on the subject with my actions. You on the other hand will have to reconcile yours one day.

Nobody, to my knowedge, has ever advocated forcing you to kill the unborn, marry anyone of the same sex, use recreational drugs or give up your Christian beliefs. On the other hand, it seems that you wish for the gov't (huge federal nanny state?) to prohibit abortion, outlaw SSM, ban recreational drugs (except alcohol) and establish Christianity as a national religion. Who is for small gov't and more personal freedoms - based on the issues that you brought up? Hmm...

Nobody is asking you to worship "my" God but the Constitution states FREEDOM OF RELIGION, NOT FREEDOM FROM RELIGION and 80% of this country believes in "my" God. You don't like it, don't pay any attention to it, how does putting God back into this country affect you?

You need to take a civics class and learn what the First Amendment actually says. Being kind, I will help you: "congress shall make no laws respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". So in fact he was absolutely correct, our government, as codified by the constitution, is secular.

No, I think you misinterpreted my post which was directed to those zealots here who do propose those things and it is waving a red cape in front of a raging bull when you bring up religion to these people or programs they don't support. I am for a small central govt and always have been with rights vested at the state and local levels.

Christian culture, yes. Sometimes Christian-enforced state? Absolutely. There were State Churches up through the early 19th century. They disappeared, eventually. The document you quote? Well, it's majority author held a vastly different concept for God than the God of Abraham.

So the hypocricy you presented here is every one else's fault...

Rights are vested at the individual level, it is gov't power which is limited at the federal level leaving all else to the states (see the US Constitution for more details). ;)

So, you've taken the libertarian position that it's not up to the federal government to outlaw abortion or drugs, or to regulate marriage?

Why would mandatory drug screening for welfare recipients be on your bucket list, then?

just sayin.

A lot of conservatives are too married to Jeffersonian principles to notice that they've actually been cheating on him on a regular basis.

We Hamiltonians have no such self-deception.

It is time to put some pride back into the national discussion and to do that starts with and updated bucket list.

Meh.....typical rantings of a cranky old guy.
I suspect the author of this list, Louis T. Deckert, is a pseudonym of APACHERAT's.:)

PS: I'm a little disturbed that this allegedly patriotic group has defaced Old Glory.
Turning OUR flag into a Euro-socialist fleur de lys.
Disgusting.

Constitutionally, Obama was elected to a second 4 year term in 2012. You don't have to like it, but getting rid of him before that doesn't respect the Constitution.

Also, where in the Constitution does the Federal Government have the power to regulate what language is spoken?

Where in the Constitution does it regulate a person's health plan or retirement plan? How does Congress have "the same as everyone else" when we all have different plans?

It's class warfare against the political class.
