A growing number of panicky Senate Democrats are urging President Obama to extend the enrollment period for the star-crossed Affordable Care Act and even postpone for a year a requirement that uninsured Americans sign up for Obamacare or pay a penalty.

Obamacare_Slug.jpgitokIqRuzITC

But now the president is faced with an equally daunting task of defusing a simmering revolt among key allies in the Senate and the House who are worried about their reelection prospects next year.

The problem could become even worse next week when the administration has promised to release the first detailed accounting of how many Americans were able to log on to the glitch-ridden Obamacare website and actually enroll in an insurance program.

Embattled HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius signaled during Senate testimony on Wednesday that the numbers are likely to be very low because of all the technical problems besetting the website.

On the same day, 16 Senate Democrats met with the president and warned of a “crisis of confidence,” unless the administration quickly corrects hundreds of technical problems that have thwarted millions of Americans enrolling in health insurance programs offered on new insurance exchanges across the country.

Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK) expressed his frustration at that meeting and told reporters later, "It's absolutely unacceptable in this day and age that the administration can't deliver on the promises it made to all Americans because of technical problems with a website. Alaskans should be appreciating the critical benefits of the Affordable Care Act, but there is an understandable crisis in confidence because the administration has yet to get it off the ground."

Meanwhile, 10 Senate Democrats signed a letter drafted by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) urging the Obama administration to extend the open enrollment period for an unspecified period of time.....snip~

It is like I have been saying.....I just didn't know it was Sixteen Democratic Senators as I heard there was going to be a meeting with their Rank. But there it is......they know Obamacare will sink them. That's the Senate and that would give the GOP All of Congress and a guarantee that Obama goes down as an ineffective 2nd term President and the Man responsible for dividing the country into an extremes while creating a Signature Legislation that was a disaster to the Country.

Not only Did that Democrat Senator Shaheen send out a letter. Today Manchin the Democrat intro'd legislation with Mark Kirk the Republican Senator who came back from a Stroke and is Moderate towards him. To Delay the mandate for another year.

Obama is looking to pivot and deflect off now that he thinks his Apology will be good enough for the Country. Hence him stating he will focus on the economy now......but whats Immigration dealt with. His numbers since the apology have him dropping again. He must know now that the people can see his own going after him. Now knowing he lied to all then looked to recalibrate his message.

The Democrats will do anything to get Obamacare off their backs with any sort of delay now. That will help Republicans to get what they want and not have to give up anything to Obama nor the Democrats. Now all that demonizing Obama did with those on the Right, (while not being so truthful about working those from the Right) is going to come back to haunt and bite him in his ass.

Oh gee, you know earlier it was Ted Cruz and some other representatives back by the Tea Party that asked the House leadership to offer to the Senate a deal for delaying Obamacare and Harry Reid said "No". Now that there is a growing number in the Democrat party wanting to do just that, the Republicans should ask for something more before signing on. Look they own this happy horse poop, now make them grapple over it.

I don't know if the Repubs will ask for anything. But one thing is for sure. They no longer need to cave on anything.

16 Democrats all that can send Obamacare into delay with the Repubs. What can Obama do then? Letters to him from other Democrats. One thing for certain the Libs and Progressives aren't to happy with him either.

The other news that will come out is that Obama knew that the phones wouldn't work too. Now that they have Sebelius testifying to that and pointing out how that info thru the phone still has to be input into the Website.

Be careful my friend. The election is a long way off, one year off. No one knows what events or issues will pop up between now and then. The good news for Republicans is this web site problem and the cancellations of policies has made the electorate forget about the shutdown. Some other issue or event can just as easily push Obamacare off the front pages. Americans have really short memories.

Another thing, there will be no bill brought to the floor of the senate without Harry Reid's approval and Reid won't bring one up unless the president gives him the okay. So it doesn't matter what 16 democrats and 45 republicans senators think, what matters is what Senator Reid will allow or not allow.

Heya Pero :2wave: Well with Harry begging Boehner over that LGBT Bill.....and all the pressure Harry is going to be getting. I think you might see a change up. Especially with more and more to come out with Obamacare. Like I said before.....as soon as they try and get around this specific issue of it. That's when the next will be dropped into that All Seeing EYE.....Right back, front stage and center in front of those middle class and poor. Which doesn't even count Obama getting the numbers he needs in order to even sustain his Signature Legislation.

Moreover I don't think he can look to his Foreign Policy to help him out either. Which leaves the Economy and we know where he is standing there. So truthfully my friend.....things are looking like A Whole Lot Of Rosie.....and we aint talk Rosie O'Donnell either.

Alright Rosie O'Donnell, that was a good chuckle line. I don't know, I have been hearing quite a lot today about a deal between us and Iran being drawn up in Geneva. Which if that is true, will knock Obamacare off the tv for a few days. Then one can be fairly certain that Israel may feel they have no choice but to strike at Iran and then who the heck knows what will happen from there.

I fully expected to see Syria back on the front pages again for that very reason, but Iran will do. Putin may have something to add to the mix, too. Interesting times we live in, when no one can be trusted...

That isn't the worst of it.....now there is news out that Saud have an agreement with the Chinese for Nuke Cap Missiles and now we are hearing of a possible arrangement with the Pakis. HB dropped this today.

Saudis Buy Advanced Nuclear-Capable Missiles from China

According to our sources, the three advisers have been given their assignments: Muqrin is focusing on Iran, Yemen, Libya and Al Qaeda. Bandar deals with Saudi Arabia’s foreign military relations – excepting the US – and is managing the comparison shopping for advanced weapons among multiple suppliers. Ambassador Jubeir’s job is to advise the king and represent Saudi positions on matters of common interest to the US administration.

Yep, if we aren't careful there may be no one left to enjoy the fruits of the ACA.

Here is a paragraph on the presidents's visit to New Orleans and Marry Landrieu. On the CNN web site.

Landrieu flew with Obama to New Orleans on Friday, but she missed his speech on economic development due to what her office called long-scheduled events in Lake Charles. Obama praised her during his remarks for tireless advocacy on behalf of the people of Louisiana.

When senate candidates stop showing up on stage with a president with a low approval rating, that could spell trouble.

Heres a Bit of Trivia for ya.....up until Obama went to Dallas Texas In Nov. Who was the last President to go to and make such a Trip? Can't count the Bush nor the Shrub. ;)

Now who's smart idea was that on Team Obama?

I'm sure you are referring to JFK. It does seem strange that Nixon or Reagan or even Ford wouldn't have made a couple of campaign stops there.

Yeah.....I thought it was too. Considering Clinton and Carter didn't either.

Maybe it's wishful thinking they could get more. I sure would like to see them get legislation passed to reign in the EPA. Their stack of new regulations that do not need Congress to get implemented are real jobs killers and that is something we definitely don't need at this time. But Obama has too much false pride to agree to any changes in Obamacare at this time. He was still out on the campaign trail yesterday still trying to sell this boondoggle. I just read where his approval rating has now tanked into the 30's. That obviously means there's a growing number within his own party that are dissatisfied. If this continues he will be forced to cave into some type of deal. It is my understanding there are 20 new tax increases involved with Obamacare. Many were implemented this year and folks have yet to feel the full affect of them probably won't until after tax season next year. (Just months before the mid-term elections) :) The rest are to follow clear up through 2018. Some of them by design will continue to increase the cost of healthcare. Not good news for the Democrats.

Mornin' Vesper.....yeah yesterday he got into a little bit of Spar with Jindal. Jindal made him look real bad. To top it off. He was going to speak to the Dems Senatorial Campaign Committee in Florida. As he headed off to 2 fundraisers there after he left New Orleans.

Now another Democrat Senator has intro'd legislation. Landrieu is trying to get something passed where people can still keep their Insurance. Like Obama said. Here is some on it.

Obama spars with Louisiana governor over healthcare law

2013-11-08T203803Z_1_CBRE9A71LBS00_RTROPTP_2_USA-OBAMA.JPG

A trip by President Barack Obama to the Port of New Orleans on Friday was an opportunity for him to focus on the economy and divert attention from the troubled launch of his signature healthcare insurance program.

Instead, the visit turned into a spat over Obamacare with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, a possible Republican presidential contender.

Obama first delivered a pitch for the creation of jobs by fixing roads, dredging ports and modernizing the U.S. air traffic control system. Then he took a veiled jab at Jindal for failing to support a key plank of the healthcare law.

Louisiana is one of 24 states that has refused federal funds to expand Medicaid to more low-income people, money that Obama said would help 265,000 people in the state gain access to health insurance. "Even if you don't support the overall plan, let's at least go ahead and make sure that the folks who don't have health insurance right now and can get it through an expanded Medicaid, let's make sure we do that," Obama said.

That opened the door for Jindal to accuse Obama of trying to "bully" the state.

"We will not allow President Obama to bully Louisiana into accepting an expansion of Obamacare," Jindal said in a statement, saying the expansion would cost the state too much. "The dysfunction of the website and the president's broken promises on being able to keep your health plan are just the tip of the iceberg in regards to the problems with this law," Jindal said.

After his speech, Obama flew to Miami, Florida and was to speak at two fundraisers for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and another for the Democratic National Committee.

Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, who faces a tough re-election race next year, traveled with Obama from Washington, but did not attend his event in New Orleans. Landrieu introduced legislation this week that would allow Americans to keep their existing health insurance plans, if they so choose, as Obama had promised.....snip~

He thought that apology would help him.....instead the MS Media called him out for lying. Landrieu is on the bubble and she knows it.
So do those other Democratic Senators. I doubt Obamacare will be toned down for these next two upcoming elections.

So now its the Democrats turn to play that pied piper.
