The media just can't help themselves it seems. The coverage over the Million Vet March in Washington , D.C. is insulting and demeaning to our military veterans. At the march, many veterans removed the barricades blocking access to the World War II Memorial and then dumped the barricades outside the White House. Conservatives such as Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz spoke to the crowd about the current government shutdown (a false moniker as only 17% of the government is actually shut down). Yet, the mainstream media continues to carry water for Obama and do everything possible to denigrate and cast the veterans and other protestors as insane kooks.

This is clearly evident by the venom continually being spewed by the media against the Tea Party. When the subject is brought up, it's always in the most negative way. Tea Party people are never "concerned citizens" but are "fringe elements" and weirdoes. The most specious charge is that Tea Party people are racists that only became involved in politics due to a black man, Obama, being in the White House, not the fact that our liberties are being eroded and our country is speeding over a fiscal cliff. One man in the protest was carrying a Confederate flag and every news agency focused on that one individual. Did most news stories show aged WWII vets in their wheelchairs moving past the barricades? No, they did not. The image of the Confederate flag bearer was repeated endlessly. CNN anchor Don Lemon raged ad bullied a Tea Party supporter on his tv show for not agreeing with his leftist talking points.

Of course the Progressive Left equates veterans with the T-Party and that's fine with most veterans. When the W.H. cuts off the benefits to the bereaved families of our fallen soldiers and closes access to public veteran memorials, it strengthens and expands the ire toward this administration.

I figured the media was being kind to vets by not showing them near that idiot. Sad that Tea Parties hijacked the vet rally.

The OP translated: "Thanks Obama, for created a libral media conspiracy against our vets!"

Jon Stewart explains this rather well.

most vets are apolitical if that is the right word. From what I see being posted on several vet sites I belong to they are mad at everyone in Washington. here is an example of a post on the Long Binh Vet site, "They're just a bunch of egotistical bas-tards in Washington who love messing with peoples lives. Get rid of the lot." That about sums it up.

One of the conservative talking points is that the veterans were only there to protest Obama and/or the Democrats. Which isn't true. A lot of them have the "throw all the bums out" mentality.

That seems t be how almost every one feels not just vets

Being a retired vet myself, I would say you're right. Vets like any other group of society, has their die hards R and D's, but for the most part I would say, they want them all gone. Who's to blame, they don't care, they just want this fixed.

that's how I feel at the moment. If they can't govern, what the heck are they doing in Washington? I way past caring about who is to blame or who started this or anything else. Let's get this fixed and let the people decide in November of 2014 who was right and who was wrong. This whole thing is idiocy. If someone would have told me last week that the fate of this nation lies in Senator's Reid's and McConnell's hands, I would have had a heart attack. But that is exactly where we are at.

Remember when?

But it's alright to bar veterans and disabled vets from public memorials.

What the hell does that have to with anything?

I watched it on CSPAN and those WW2 vets in wheelchairs could of cared less. They just wanted to visit their memorial.

When you have gomers out waving confederate flags, Larry Klayman telling the president to put down the Koran, and a dangerous paramilitary group like the Oath Keepers waving their flags...well, what the hell do you expect? That rally was maggoty with kooks, nuts, and fringe weirdos.

Their problem...they need to weed out the kooks before flouncing around on camera.
