Schwarzenegger blew it. Spent all his time with his maid and cowtowing to the GOP obstructionists. Brown has fixed the economy in a couple years.
Schwarzenegger did blow it no doubt. Californians elected a movie star, what did they expect?
However you mentioned more than just Schwarzenegger. What for instance, did Clinton fix, that Reagan caused?

p.s. I think its funny that you find it insulting for me to say you went to public school!

California's economy dwarves any other state and would be a powerful economic nation in its own right (10 or 11th in the word as I recall). Recessions hit California harder because its economy is so big. But then its recoveries are also big. Alabama didn't have far to go to the bottom and won't rise much higher as the economy recovers. California always growth tremendously.
    8th largest, actually:

"California is responsible for 13.1 percent of the United States' $14.96 trillion gross domestic product (GDP). California's GDP is larger than that of all but 8 countries in dollar terms (the United States, China, Japan, Germany, France, [[Brazil], the United Kingdom, and Italy). It's larger than the GDPs of Russia, India, Canada, Australia, and Spain. In terms of Purchasing Power Parity[19], it's larger than all but 9 countries (the United States, China, India, Japan, Germany, Russia, Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Italy), larger than Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Canada, and Turkey."

Yeah, its indicitive of the state of things. Those who think CA's just all doing rosey now that it soaked the millinaires and added sales tax best take their savings and lock and load.

Yeah through austerity and tax increases...
So he clamped down on spending, cutting university budgets, holding K-12 education to the minimum and slashing health and social service programs. And he gathered signatures for a ballot initiative to raise income taxes on the wealthy and increase the sales tax by a quarter-cent on the dollar
Maybe Washington should take note…Unfortunately this is a PROJECTED surplus much the same as CBO predicted in the late ‘90’s (we know how that worked out)…AND is dependent on the tax increases generating the PROJECTED revenue…
The state is still looking at a very real deficit in the coming year, and projections of surpluses on the horizon, while more realistic than ever before, remain little more than the best educated guesses of the people who are paid to peer into economic crystal balls.
    Crystal ball indeed…

Uhhh, you do realize that Reagan's inept policies resulted in the Bush 1 recession, which Clinton solved by raising taxes on the top bracket.

Reagan also left the Iraqi mess, having armed Saddam (amazing how many criminals Reagan armed), and Clinton fixed that with sanctions and air strikes. Then Bush II arived and spent $3T to kill Reagan's creation and let Iran take over the region, another country Reagan armed! And of course 9-11 was in the wings, fueled by jihadist in Afghanistan, amazingly also armed by Reagan.

Wow, a city in California went broke. If that keeps happening, we'll be in as bad of shape as Alabama -- in 30,000 years.

Which US state has the highest GDP by far? Come on, you can say it!
