I think anyone who thinks the rich should pay a higher rate should pay that some overall rate themselves.

The sainted Founding Fathers gave us Amendment V. When they painted the portrait of the nation, they kept the oils and brushes close at hand for future generations. In doing this, they accepted the fact that their views on ANYTHING - including income taxes - could be rendered irrelevant in generations to come.

Social Security would have never passed even in the New Deal era if it was nothing more than another redistribution of income scheme

no, I wish all the poor who could with enough effort-stop lying back and sucking the public teat and do what Americans did for generations before we made being a slacker too easy--and get off their butts.

remember its not my party that benefits by having lots of poor people.

but your "logic" is such that as long as someone is poor, no one should be rich. and sorry I don't believe that the government should have that power.

Not sure about the stealing part...but the exploiting? Definitely. If that wasn't true then they wouldn't be going across seas where they can get cheap labor and where there are less restrictions on safety and such.

I really don't have time to go through the legislative history but if you doubt me you can do what I did back when I was in law school and read all of that stuff

Laying back and on their butts? Explain to me how a family of four with an income of 21k are just laying back on their butts. If they have an income that means they have a job.

Nobody was poor until the New Deal came along. All the poor -- directly created by FDR.

Love to stay and argue, but I've got a hard day of teat sucking ahead of me.

Do you deny what I just said? Last I heard how much companies pay americans vs how much they pay those in say china is one of the biggest reasons for moving a company out of the US.

Because procreation is an instinctual natural inclination, irregardless of income which is a man made construct. Not to mention accidents with contraceptives DO happen.

wrong claim dude. not only did I work for PP, my late mother was a major supporter and activist. everyone in my family has given tons to that group. I agree with you on that issue and its one I have little use for the bible thumper evangelical hypocrites and the faux pious postering papists

Once the rich pay their fair share, then the government can distribute the money equally and then the masses of poor people will be motivated to go out and make better lives for themselves because they will realize that the government cares and then a collective utopia will grace the land, there will never be anymore poor, we will all live happily ever after. It's not a spending problem, it's a lack of caring problem...
