How can we create a movement that can not be hijacked?
How can we create a movement that can not be hijacked? for example as far as tea bagger movement, I now have only one word - Palin. it's as independent as McSame who voted with bush on every issue that helped/forced us to elect Obama. Palin ran for president on foxnews and the left wing media while they destroyed a campaign of a man who really did stand by constitution
If we create a movement based on the real bible or justice, how do we make sure that no goofball like Palin can show up, take a center stage and be presented on the media as some sort of a leader for that movement therefor completely discrediting it? I'm sure at some point most of those movements were with good intentions, and after it reaches certain point of attention they get infiltrated and become a joke. |

Re: How can we create a movement that can not be hijacked?
******* Those seeing Ron Paul as some icon of virtue tend to forget the sorry ass Lying bullying crew who latched onto his rotten campaign in 2007/08 and how he did nothing as they hassled others, jammed phone banks and put out a myriad of Conspiracy theories. Paul might have worked his district well in 20+ years but he as with certain others are an example of WHY Term Limits arte needed.

I think those individuals that continually use the term "teabagger" are excited by the sexual overtones.

Re: How can we create a movement that can not be hijacked?
The Obama campaign did just that which is why there is such hatred for him. The corporatists didn't see his internet movement coming and they couldn't co-op it or kill the message. That's why they started the "tea party" movement even though the idiot tea baggers have representation with their taxation, don't have a beef with government subsidizing industries (or don't care enough to stop it) and don't have any idea about import/export tariffs.
There won't be another internet movement like Obama's because the CI (corporate interests) will be ready next time. So there is little hope for change until we can fix the money in our elections. With the recent SCOTUS decision, that's not going to happen so our last hope as citizens is Instant Run Off Voting. |

Re: How can we create a movement that can not be hijacked?
I was hoping the Tea Party wouldn't let another sock puppet politician grab the steering wheel.
The Tea Party being hijacked is an eerie metaphore that is actually quite fitting. This countries politics are neck deep into corruption and voting no longer represents the people. America is the land of sock puppet politicians with their sock puppet media. |

The Achilles heel of the Tea Party movement is not that it can be 'hijacked' by a polarizing politician like Sarah Palin or the like. The Achilles heel of the Tea Party movement is found in the lack of 'commonality' on all the other issues that divide the nation. Namely, Abortion, gay Marriage, Gays in the military, Illegal Immigration, Pre-emptive strikes on Iran, and the like. For a viable '3rd party' to emmerge from something as narrowly defined as is the 'Tea Party movement',... there will have to be a lot of determinations made on what the "platforms" are going to be,... and when that begins,... The movement will (in my opinion) begin to fall apart. Too bad too,.. because I would like to see a "Tea Party" party emerge. |

Quote:
The only real way to make these movements corruption proof is to make laws that (a) send politician taking a bribe (contributions count as bribes) to jail for 25 years without parole, reprieve, or pardonability; (b) put the business executives who offer said bribes in jail for 25 years under the same conditions; (c) make all campaign finances public records; (d) allow only a set amount of funding for each politician to run (grassroots); and (e) create a vote of no confidence that allows citizens to directly remove corrupt politicians from office. |
