Republicans, where will you rebuild your coalition?

I used to consider myself a republican, but that was before I was really interested in politics. I believe the current Republican party is being phased out quickly (and has been for some time) and the only way to head this country in the right direction is to create a "main stream" party with more progressive conservative views. I realize that is an oxymoron but I'm sure some of you understand what I'm saying. My generation MUST BE WON by a political party that will really help the US, not lead blindly by a "super cool Messiah" promising to solve all their problems.

After GWB, there are a lot of Republicans who are ashamed to admit to being Republican. Much to the chagrine of true Libertarians, many try to call themselves "Libertarian" these days, however, their posts clearly show that they are Republicans. You can run....but you can't hide.

I don't mind much. Again with the "that constiuencie doesn't exist!"

Which is why i do not label myself with any affiliation to a political party. My views are more "true conservative" than libertarian. And since when is Republican a reflection of views? Or Libertarian a political party?
