There's a tantrum on the part of the left? Really? Even though we won the White House and gained seats in both the House and the Senate? Okaaaaay. The only person I see throwing a tantrum is HER. Look at her Facebook post, look at her Twitter post: I had to quit because of the media and others get treated better than I. Wah wah wah wah

Yes, he says dumb things from time to time, but he is a smart guy, IMO. I haven't gotten that impression from Palin. I watch other Republican women, and it's obvious they have brains: Kay Baily Hutchenson, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, etc. Heck, you can tell that Ann Coulter is a smart lady. In listening to Palin, I don't find that she exudes a level of intelligence that I would want in someone who is in a leadership position. Maybe she was a good leader for Alaska, but I don't see her as a good leader for a higher role.

All the time......

I supported the War on terror, I abhorred his no child left behind, his willingness to sign another AWB, his over spending, I was critical of the patriot act that I was concerned it would be used on American citizens. The perscription drug program was a mistake, his spending on a stimulous was another.

See I am a conservative small "L" libertarian. I don't mold my positions to match a politician but see where they fit in with my core values.

something many of you all lack the ability or willingness to do.

Show me the last 20 threads on Palin here on DP. How many were started by a right winger. It's a tantrum.

The media essentially raped this poor woman. Imagine if they went after Obama the way they went after her.

He never would have been elected. Ths is a fact.

I think its more her accent.

Palin never really came off as knowing anything that wasn't directly related to Alaska. Great if your the governor, not so good nationally.

Also, Rev and other people have claimed the left is "scared" of Palin. Can anyone link me to anything written by a prominent liberal where they admit they're actually scared that Palin can beat Obama? I call BS if not.
Hey I disagree with you On Obama, but I do side with you on the Palin issue. I don't dislike Palin, but I do not think liberals are scared of her, especially now after she resigned. Palin might of become something if she waited and got more experience before entering the national spotlight. She might still move up, stranger things have happened, but I think her resigning is going to hurt her progress.

I wish I could post the e-mail my brother (a Republican) sent me regarding an e-mail exchange he had with a group of his fellow Republicans about Obama's birth certificate. This thread reminded me of it: http://www.debatepolitics.com/conspi...rtificate.html

As to the Muslim issue:

Belief that Obama is Muslim is Durable, Bipartisan – but Most Likely to Sway Democratic Votes - Pew Research Center

Poll: 1 in 10 think Obama is Muslim - USATODAY.com

Newsmax.com - Poll: 11% Believe Obama Is Muslim

I agree. But so was Palin's stance on abstinence and the fact that her daughter got pregnant.

I believe that the only child the left talked about was Bristol due to the fact that her mother pushes abstinence and yet she got pregnant. Go figure.

Since the election--Bristol has gone out speaking publicly on having a baby. I'm sorry but she has put herself in the spotlight. The fact that Levi also spoke publicly added to that.

I haven't seen any reputable left-leaning media disparage her children.

And people ask me why I sometimes question the honesty of some Democrats.

I think the left would fear Palin if she somehow made it into the White House. I know I would. Shoot, I don't wanna be a Christian again...

It is centrists and moderates that are freaked out by how infatuated the far-right base is with her.

How many more stupid things does this broad have to do before we can move on and focus on a real candidates for 2012?

Hell, it's 3 years off, why am I even talking about this.
Maybe loved in a contemptuous sort of way. Much like the right with regards to Nader.
