No one can tell me the bulk of that audience tuned in to watch Joe Biden.

UPDATED: Thursday's highly anticipated face-off between Alaska governor Sarah Palin and Delaware senator Joe Biden was the most-watched vp debate of all time.


Last night's event was seen by nearly 70 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

That's the most-viewed debate -- presidential or vp -- since the second round between Bill Clinton, Ross Perot and George Bush in 1992 (and possibly the most since 1980's famed debate between Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter).

If Palin's performance gives McCain a bounce, watch the media start ramping up the racist rhetoric again. They've been quiet since Obama went up in the polls. We ought to hear some nastiness about Palin's family some time soon.

People were far more interested in Sarah Palin's 1st debate than they were in Barack's 1st debate, unless somebody thinks more people tuned in to watch Biden or McCain.

I believe people tuned in to see if Palin fell on her face or Biden sunk his teeth into her. I don't believe people tuned in because they love Plain so much or plan to vote for her.
