If America really wants change...

Why does it keep electing its incumbents to Congress?

Reelection Rates Over the Years | OpenSecrets

US House of Reps has never gone below 85% re-elected.

Senate since '82 has never fallen below 75%.

No answer eh?

How many of you keep voting for your incumbents while complaining about the sorry state of America?

In todays times I feel the need to vote Democrat across the board.
At least until the collasal mess the Republicans have got us into starts to correct itself.

The Republicans have their sites on Iran. Based on the movie they played during the convention that tried to connect Iran to 911, if we are unable to get Republicans out of our government this election, we will be screwed.

And that is without even considering the very odd and unreasonable act of provoking Russia.
McCain has made his utter hatred of Russia very clear. And accepting Georgia into NATO while surrounding Russia with AMB's quite simply guarantees a war with Russia.
We can only pray it does not become nuclear.
McCain and Cheney might be the ones spearheading the war with Russia, but the entire GOP is backing them up.

The GOP must be removed, period. What the Democrats will do when in power is insignificant in comparison to world war 4.
World War 4 is not some glamorous thing with heros and movies etc like most of us see World War 2 as today.
World War 4 will be the end of all civilization. (If we are lucky).

I am curious, who here does not understand that Russia MUST ATTACK before we complete the ABM's?
Who here does not believe that we would do the same thing if in their shoes?
Will you actually be suprized when Russia takes out the ABM's?
Even after they clearly told us they will?
When they do take them out... will McCain attack the Russia soil that they launched their attack from?

Good god, just get these people out of our Government.

Repeal the 17th amendment and end the popular election of Senators.

I will do you one better, Why should a senator be paid more than a Special Forces Soldier?

I also think that there should be no retirement until they have served 20 years in Service and then it should be on the same scale and percentages as military.

In addition they should be audited EVERY year.

You don't change things byt voting democrat, you change things by NOT voting for the incumbent. That can be anyone, republican, democrat, or even libertarian.

It always amazed me that after the last 8 years, people are still willing to vote for the same bull ****. If Forest Gump was my only choice other than the incumbent, I'd vote for him without hesitation.

Ok well show me a sittuation where the Incumbent Democrat is for war with Russsia and the Republican is against war with Russia...
And I'd galdly vote Republican.

It is not the "old" Republican ideals that terrify me.
It is the new ones. This idea that we must take the world to war to sustain a global empire.

One major problem with that is that it can lead to major gridlock if factions in the state house can't decide on a candidate. There's other problems I have with that idea, but this seems to be a good place to start. There's been times when it took several months or longer to decide.

What if the incumbent is the best candidate?
