ABC News has exclusively learned that Alaska Senator Hollis French will announce today that he is moving up the release date of his investigation into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her office to get the Alaska public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, fired. The results of the investigation were originally scheduled for release Oct. 31 but will now come almost three weeks earlier, according to sources.
The Alaska state senator running an investigation of Gov. Palin had accused the McCain campaign of using stall tactics to prevent him from releasing his final report by Oct. 31, four days before the November election.
"It's likely to be damaging to the Governor's administration," said Senator Hollis French, a Democrat, appointed the project manager for a bi-partisan State Senate Legislative Counsel Committee investigation.
Palin, who has denied any wrongdoing and has said she has nothing to hide, has hired private lawyers to represent her in the matter.
I haven't heard any sources expect a good outcome for Palin regarding this investigation. I expect if French is correct and it would be damaging to Palin as a Governor, it will also be damaging to her as a GOP candidate on a national level........time will tell.

The Following User Says Thank You to missypea For This Useful Post:
Wooten and Palin's sister were embroiled in a bitter divorce and custody battle during this time.
Wooten reported to Julia Grimes at the time of the investigation into his behaviors.
Wooten was brought up on charges.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Julie Grimes disciplined Wooten with a 10 day suspension and warning of impending termination if any other wrong doing occurred.
The union negotiated the suspension down to a 5 day suspension.
Monegan became the commissioner after this happened.
Palin was later elected governor.
Palin, her husband, and the people in her administration have been accused of pressuring Monegan to fire Wooten.
My problem with Palin, if this time line is correct (someone correct me if I'm wrong) is:
The Wooten event was over. There had been charges made, an investigation completed and Wooten had been disciplined by his department.
If Monegan was approached by Palin et al regarding Wooten.....why?
If Monegan was pressured by Palin et al regarding Wooten......why?
It's sounding more and more like Palin abused her office.
Aps--Lerxst, I haven't seen you on the other thread that's going on regarding this issue. Do you (or anyone) have links that would contradict this time line?
