I personally hope that Franken wins. However, i'd also be hoping for a Limbaugh victory, a Savage victory, or a Coulter victory if they were running. I'd love to see a pundit in elected office to see how they handle it. Pundits make a career or telling politicians what they should do or should have done. It would be fascinating to see a pundit actually in office.

I like to think of pundits as back seat drivers. They bitch a lot but threaten to run the car straight into a concrete wall and they stfu.

Coleman's ads have switched in the last week to trumpet his time as mayor when "he" brought NHL hockey back to Minnesota. (A couple years prior, Minnesota lost the North Stars to Texas). And the sad thing for Norm is that the one thing that he has to call major accomplishment was something that he did as Mayor of Saint Paul when he was still calling himself a Democrat. The author in the City Council was left wing DFL (gay rights ordinance author, before the state passed legislation; antismoking author, before the state passed legislation) Dave Thune. It was supported by the entire DFL Council and passed by the DFL legislature.

So now he's bragging about pork spending and raising additional taxes (both were accomplised by bringing hockey back to Minnesota as the old arena was razed for the mall of america's parking lot.) And unironically, the new stadium paid for by raising taxes in St Paul, is the home of the GOP convention.
