That would be one hell of an incentive.

When one enlists no one is assured they will not see combat. This constant state of readiness requires sacrifices beyond the understanding of civilian society, as a whole, and IMO DOES qualify any and all veterans to receive VA benefits after their enlistments.

Universal healthcare plays no part in my opinion. Just so you know to me this is about veterans and veterans alone.

Like I said, I disagree with non-combat vets having free access to the VA, I would support like the GI bill, and the life insurance thing they do, access to a very reduced rate for as long as you choose to keep it. That would be a comprimise I could handle.

I think Obama's plan is at minimum a step in the right direction.

I have no issue with non-combat Veterans getting VA health care, none whatsoever. I know many twenty years vets who never saw combat but served their nation admirably, doing a critical job that needed done. VA benefits are just that...benefits. You earn 'em, you should be able to take advantage of them.

I left it alone because I don't think he really believes that. Rev loves and supports all veterans...I am sure of this, his comment seems more frustration than anything.
