Kentucky: I hope so badly McConnell loses but I doubt it...
Colorado: Udall will win
Main: Sue Collins wins, but I hate her too...
VA= despite polls, I know I know, its a longshot, but I just have a gut feeling Gilmore will win. | Alright, I was with you until the calling Virginia for Gilmore. If partier's right then I could see Sununu come back when Shaheen runs out of money, but Warner could've realistically been elected President in what would've probably been a landslide, and he's got a 30 point lead. Unless he's living a secret life as Hitler I don't see anyway he loses.

Current Mood: | Re: Senate Elections thread Some other polls:
There's a new poll out of New Jersey that shows Lautenberg with a considerable lead. What I imagine is his numbers in the other poll were soft following a contentious primary, and I imagine this is more indicative of how things are there (as it's a lot more fitting to the current electoral makeup of New Jersey)
Lautenberg: 45
Zimmer: 28
Albeit there are a lot of undecideds, a 17 point margin's pretty ****ing healthy
In Mississippi there's a new poll with Wicker in front of Muscgrove by 1. This isn't too surprising, it seems most of the polls there have been within the margin of error.
In New Mexico they finally have a Republican candidate and it made no difference, Tom Udall is leading Pearce 58-30.
Also, I found out that Lunsford, the guy running against Mitch McConnell in Kentucky, was in the movie Predator. If elected he would dead seriously be the third actor in that film to go on to hold major elected office (joining Jesse Ventura - former governor of Minnesota, and of course Arnold Schwarzenegger - current governor of California). It's seeming less and less likely that he'll win, but that'd be some pretty funny ****. I for one put forward that a better film for selecting leaders would be Caddyshack, but I also have a framed picture of Bill Murray with the gopher in my apartment. |

Sununu: 42
Shaheen: 46 Fosters.com - Dover NH, Rochester NH, Portsmouth NH, Laconia NH, Sanford ME Quote:
After trailing in polls for a year, Republican Sen. John Sununu has pulled about even with Democratic challenger Jeanne Shaheen in New Hampshire's U.S. Senate race.
A new University of New Hampshire poll gives Shaheen 46 points to 42 for Sununu. The difference is just within the poll's margin of error plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.
Nearly three-quarters of the 475 likely voters surveyed said they have not definitely decided whom they will support. Those still trying to decide include large majorities of both registered Republicans and registered Democrats.
The telephone poll was conducted from July 11-20.
Shaheen, a former three-term governor, led by 12 points in the last UNH poll in the race, in April.
Sununu served three terms in the U.S. House before beating Shaheen for the Senate seat in 2002.

And you called it man, bravo! |

Incumbent Republican Senator John Sununu can breathe a little easier in New Hampshire if the numbers keep trending his way in his rematch race against former Governor Jeanne Shaheen.
Sununu, viewed until recently as perhaps the GOP’s most endangered senator, now leads Shaheen 52% to 45%, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of voters in the state. A month ago Sununu was down by 10, but in July the volatile Senate race was a five-point affair. In June Shaheen had her largest lead ever.

Current Mood: | Re: Senate Elections thread Just for the record... don't count Republican John Kennedy out in his race against incumbent Democrat Mary Landrieu! Landrieu's voting record has proven her to be a typical liberal democrat except on a few votes where she knew that Louisiana voters were watching her very closely (usually hurricane Katrina and offshore drilling issues).
I guess that this is one time that I will have to vote for a Kennedy... wow!
