It's for the same reason that those with a college education tend to look down on those without("uneducated masses"). There just are more people without a college education than with, so those with feel it more.

I don't think that quite it. I think blue collars have a resentment for the college educated. I understand looking down on blue collars but the resentment the blue collars have for the college educated is silly at best. Don't blue collars want their kids to go to college? I doubt there are many who'd respond with a no. This basically means they'd want their kids to become that which they resent. I have blue collar roots and I have no problem alienating/distancing myself from them. Blue collars wanting to do the same thing to the white collars is simply stupid.

Yes but Obamas base is made up of many uneducated blacks and limousine liberals.

Obama's base is made up of all kinds of people. Unlike the other candidates he doesn't have one segment he feeds from. Check out how many votes from independents he's been getting. Did black and limousine liberals win him places like Iowa?

Of course they want their kids to go to college, in fact, many struggle mightily to get their children to college. Non college educated people look down on educated people because, to be blunt, alot of educated people are stupid. The classic example of that degreed person running their car without oil does in fact happen, and much worse. Educated people give uneducated(but smart) people lots and lots of reasons to think they are stupid.

The truth is that education is not neccessarily a function of intelligence, nor is lack of education an indication of lack of intelligence. Smartest guy I know right now is one of the bigest farmers in this area, and a high school dropout. This guy, at age 70, not only knows everything there is to know about farming(including going to the research farm Michigan State has in the county at least once a week), but can fix every piece of farm equipment he owns, including his computers. He also is an active and successfull stock trader. He also taught himself to program and some of the software he uses to track his crops he wrote himself. Likewise, some of the dumbest are college educated people.

Where you go wrong is making assumptions and generalizations about intelligence to fit your preconcieved notions. Education only proves you are good at the process of education, which is, lets face it, pretty artificial.
