Current Mood: | Huge upset in Louisiana In a normal year in LA-06, the Republican goes to Washington, while the Democrat thinks of next time. But this year, Republicans have a huge albatross hanging around their necks - George Bush.
The Democrat, Don Cazayoux, has beaten the Republican, Woody Jenkins to become the first Democrat elected here in many years. This is an R +7.7 district. No way the Democrat should have won, and the Republican party should realize that this is the handwriting on the wall for them. This is not the first Democrat win in a special election this year in a heavily Republican district. In March, Dennis Hastert's seat fell to the Democrats.
So what do Republicans have to say about this? Quote: |

BTW, when's the "conservative" going to come out and play?

BTW, when's the "conservative" going to come out and play? | As soon as there is a Conservative party to support. Until then, I will enjoy watching the RINOs crash and burn.

I consider myself just as patriotic as you. I refuse to support people who don't support the Constitution of the United States.
And by the way, I won't make any snarky comments questioning YOUR patriotism. That is unamerican. |

According to a new Gallup Poll, Bush's disapproval rating is now at 71% -- setting the record for the highest disapproval rating of any modern President.
| The thing people fail to realize or acknowledge about Congress is that it is ~50% Republicans. So the failure of Congress is shared between Democrats AND Republicans, whereas the horrendous "President" we have is fully Republican. I'm no math whiz, but I'd say a large majority of the disapproval is aimed at Republicans and not Democrats.
Let me see if I have this right.
1 (Republican President) + 1/2 (Republican Congress) + 1/2 (Democratic Congress) = 2.
1 1/2 = Republican
1/2 = Democrat
Thus, 75% of the blame is on Republicans. |
