And even if he did, that still wouldn't have been good enough for you, Navy Pride....and you know it.

I can relate--nothing Hillary Clinton could do would make me have any respect for her.

He threw NOBODY under the bus. He explained why he'd been a friend with Wright for 20 years and made no excuse for it. Just like millions around this country make no excuse for following pastors who they don't always agree with. He made no excuse for it just like he didn't make any excuse for being a member of TUCC for had he made a single excuse you'd be sitting here complaining about him flip-flopping and not being right for this country for saying he's willing to let nobody stand in his way to becoming president or some other partisan rhetoric akin to that.

Let's be realistic, you weren't going to listen to what Obama said or even try to understand it regardless of what he said. If memory serves me right, you were already making threads about him "defending" his friendship with Wright an entire day before he was even scheduled to give his speech. You weren't going to wait for the man to say what he was going to say before you started bashing away. I don't blame you. What else can somebody do when a politician exhibits the extremely quality of being honest with the American public? What else can one do when a man in unwilling to compromise his principles and unwilling throw his family & friends under a bus just to get a few more votes? I guess all one can do is attack him and ignore what he's saying in hopes that if one says it long enough it'll become true.

Actually everyone from Don Imus to Chris Mathews to Pat Buchannan has picked up on my vernacular.

Here is another problem I had with his speech. prior to it he claimed he has never heard him speak like that, then in the speech he says "Of course" he has. It is a bit inconsistant. A bit less than "honest" as you say.

See me bringing up issues with Obama has the "true believers" all up in arms and that is understandable. I posted several times what it would have taken for me to say he was really putting this behind him. That would be leaving the racist church and disavowing the pastor. Instead he refers to his own sick grandmother as a racist and tries to compare 40 years ago society and her fear with 2008 racism exhibited by his "mentor".

This is provably false Reverend and you know it. Here is what Obama said :

Quote:
Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Of course. Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes. Did I strongly disagree with many of his political views? Absolutely -- just as I'm sure many of you have heard remarks from your pastors, priests or rabbis with which you strongly disagreed.
Quote:
Not once in my conversations with him have I heard him talk about any ethnic group in derogatory terms, or treat whites with whom he interacted with anything but courtesy and respect. He contains within him the contradictions -- the good and the bad -- of the community that he has served diligently for so many years.
You were saying?

I've already proven you wrong on this why continue? How did he throw his grandmother under a bus by telling the truth about what she did just like he did with Wright? He used her as an example of the kind of people we have around us that we're unwilling to break ties with even though they say things we strongly disagree with.

Actually he is doing better than ever, new show, new ratings etc. I am not a fan of his but caught him this morning and he while praising the speech said the same thing I did,

Also said he threw is "Grandmother under the bus". That is the point we are discussing.

Which sounds like excuse making for staying in a racist church and not disavowing the pastor. You have proven nothing.
