In what seems absolutely amazing in regards to campaign finance success, Dr. Ron Paul's single day fund raiser as of Midnight last night has raised over $1 million dollars and counting.

The goal is to get 100,000 people to donate $100 dollars by midnight tonight. so far, they reached out to 10% of their ideal goal, and is said to grow as the day and word continue to pass.

In other news, hell is beginning to freeze over...

Ron Paul for President ~'08~

It's almost 2 million since midnight :)

I heard it was altogether 3 million.

No, wait a minute. That was wRONg. I didn't hear anything. I made it up.

When HQ set a 4th quarter goal of 12 million - I laughed a little bit on the inside.

Well we are about 40% into the quarter and are at 5 million. This is putting us on pace to reach 12.5 million for the quarter.

The next step is to show how out of touch the scientific polls actually are.

It's not over. :)

It's not over. :)

Even if it is over sometime in the future, the genie has been let out of the bottle, and the pump primed for 2012. The days of the Neocons are over. It is now time to expose the Liberals. They might love this country as much as we do (I will never smear them with "hate America" BS), but their solutions are more big government, which I find ironic. They have blasted Bush's big government solution, and this is what they will themselves offer. It might not include a war in Iraq, but they WILL find ways to needlessly spend our money. If you don't believe that, then ask FDR, JFK, LBJ. The Democratic party has not changed. It's the same tune today. Only the players are different.

Getting very close to 4 million...

...on the day

Considering that he refuses big money like other candidates take and gets the majority of his money from private donations from folk makes it pretty impressive to raise so much in a single day. Doubt it will get much news because no matter what Ron Paul accomplishes, the mainstream media will not want to really start talking about this guy as if he has a chance...since he ain't really one of them. But it's still really good news.

GO RON GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring on the Ronpaulocaust! :rofl

At least McGovern, Mondale, and Goldwater managed to win their home states. Ron Paul can't even do that.

One problem I have with Paul is that he's too ideological. I want a candidate that's going to look at a problem and think not about what's ideologically right according to their philosophy, but what's going to get things done. I want a candidate that's going to be pragmatic about solutions, not ideological. I mean, a president should lower taxes when it's the best choice, and raise taxes when it's the best choice (though the same principle applies well beyond taxes.) That's why it worries me that he's never once supported raising taxes. Even Reagan, when he was governer of California, raised taxes once. He recognized it was the best solution, even if it was the "wrong" solution.

Impressive...all that money to waste.

how about we let the actual votes take place before making such statements.

What are you talking about? Every candidate gets all their money from private donations. Ron Paul is more than happy to take your $2300 just like anyone else.

Yes, let's. I've already maxed out my contributions to Hillary Clinton, so I'll do the next best thing to help her chances: donate to Ron Paul.

Paul is a loser.......He has no chance to win the nomination........

Yup, I expected that. Seriously, I don't like Ron Paul at all, but it's people like you that give his supporters so much fuel to launch him with. Please try not to waste board space.

And Navy Pride, I've always wanted to know- why do all your posts contain at least 12 periods? It gives you the impression of thinking really slowly- I'm sure that's a misguided impression, but it's nevertheless strong.

bah.. bad timing for me. I couldn't really afford to donate for this initiative, but I'll make up for it next month.

Care to wager on that NP?

If Paul wins the nominatoin, I'll change my signature to "Vote Ron Paul" for one month. If he doesn't win, you change your signature to "Vote Hillary Clinton" or "Vote Barack Obama", whoever wins, for one month. Agreed?

Hh mm…. how about the loser gets to have this as an aviator for a month? Notice I’m not making a bet.

Ron Paul was "over" when he announced his candidacy.

Only people living in abject denial, Democrats and fringe Independants can think he has a shot in mainstream Republican politics. I am looking forward to the first nomination conventions to put this silly fringe debate to rest once and for all.

:spin:

I'm down with that. lol

Any other takers? :2wave:
