Cruz's Lie

This comes as no surprise, Cruz is the *ss hole we all suspected.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...z-falsely-says-cnn-first-said-ben-carson-wa/?

It's a common tactic now for Republicans. Anytime they screw up, no matter what it is. They immediately blame the media. Cons go on and on about self-responsibility, and about how people should be held accountable for their own actions. Except when it comes to them ,then they just blame everything on the media.

I guess the Clintons just exaggerate the truth.

So let's see. As I read it, a socialist progressive operation analyzes the record, claims CNN did indeed claim Carson announced he was taking a break first, but decides campaign volunteers took that information too far, so Cruz is a liar.

You can't make it up.

Well done Progs.

Now, on to the Bern, the old white guy, which somehow doesn't matter this time.

Ted Cruz is wrong about CNN's reporting - CNNPolitics.com

this shows very clearly that in a span of two minutes before he caucuses ever opened it was made clear that Carson was still in the race. Cruises lying about this so called three hour window and this proves it beyond any doubt.

And the fact that he quotes scripture and pompously spreads his hands in prayer while looking to the heavens and doing this to win shows what a slime ball hypocrite he really is. No wonder people who know him hate him so much.

Yeah, that's piss poor deflection by you. Cruz's BS and lies here have NOTHING to do with the Clintons.

Sorry for the deflection but it's not really open-minded to call one politician a liar and ignore the lies of another. Not taking up for him but I believe he apologized for what happened and did not approve of it. I have not followed it that closely because I am not Cruz fan and would have a real hard time voting for him. If he actually wins the nomination - I'll have to re-think that position.

So let's see. As I read it, Conservatives are trying old carny tricks to cover-up dirty tricks. (PUBs have a history of dirty tricks- like when 'someone' started rumors McCain's adopted child was a 'love child' with a black woman JUST in time for the 'dirty' South races) First the report of a break by Dr. Carson in NO WAY means suspending his campaign, the original report by CNN's Chris Moody noted that Dr. Carson would be attending the DC National Prayer break after a short break in Florida.

So yes the morally handicapped aides to the Cruz campaign lied and Cruz tried to duck rather than be a stand-up guy. He played establishment politics and then establishment damage control.

(The irrelevant swipe at Bern is noted for what it is, an old carny trick of distraction while attempting a slight of hand) :peace

Nothing of which adds any credibility to the laughable bias displayed on a regular basis by socialist progressive meme writers at outfits like Politifact.

As to carney tricks, it continues to be a source of great entertainment to see Progs vaporize their credibility and highlight their hypocrisy every time they cheer for the old white guy, ignoring the "old white guy" insults they rally behind against other candidates political parties.

I guess age and skin color only matter when ideology is considered. Nothing like a foundation of principle built on water vapor.

What is laughable is some on the Conservative side refusing to drop the template when discussing what REALLY happened... I read CNN's report on the issue, no one else. I referred to CCN's reporter and his report of a continuing Carson Campaign. YOU just want to attack the source and not the facts... very ahhh conservative of you...

Yes Conservatives use old carny tricks all the time. Use only enough to try and make an equivalent. change what parts of the whine that fits an attack. NOW Bernie's skin color is all that matters... ( the PUBs running are not attacked for being old white guys- but for being old RICH white guys who don't hold the social advances of the past 50 years as progress) NOW you only see Bernie's skin color, next time my money is on you calling him a socialist.... :peace

We're in deep doo-doo if Cruz ends up as President, but I really don't understand why he's taking so much heat from this story, because, while CNN didn't say Carson was ending his campaign, they certainly insinuated that something was up:

Tapper: "...to be announcing that you’re going to go home to rest for a few days, not going on to the next site. Plus, he’s already announced that he’s going to be coming out and speaking at 9:15 local and 10:15 Eastern, no matter whether or not we know the results, because he wants to get home and get ahead of the storm."

Bash: "Look, if you want to be president of the United States, you don’t go home to Florida. I mean, that’s bottom line. That’s the end of the story. If you want to signal to your supporters that you want it, that you’re hungry for it, that you want them to get out and and campaign, you’ve got to be out there doing it too. And he’s not doing it. It’s very unusual."

Tapper: "Very unusual news that CNN has just learned. CNN’s Chris Moody breaking the story. Wolf, back to you in Washington."

Blitzer: "Very significant news indeed, guys, thanks very much."

That sounds suspiciously like they think Carson is throwing in the towel. The Cruz campaign picked up on it -- and, obviously got the wrong idea, but I can't see where CNN isn't at least somewhat to blame. When you listen to the actual video, it comes across even more strongly...Bash clearly insinuates that Carson doesn't want to be President, which opens the door to a lot of interpretation.

So, while I hope Cruz (and all his groupies) hold hands and jump in the black hole of Calcutta, I can't see this incident as an out-and-out lie.

I think CNN bears at least a little blame.

Remember that game called "Gossip" we played as kids? Kids stand in a line and someone whispers something in the first kid's ear, and then each kid, in turn, whispers it into their neighbor's ear. By the time the last kid in line repeats what he heard -- it's completely different from what was first said.

LOL

As I wrote before, these carney tricks as you call them are most entertaining. This post of yours is a classic example. I read the entire Proglitifact "interpretation", and summarized it precisely. You call that attacking the source. I call it pointing out the OP is a lie, and Proglitifact is nothing better than a dog whistle.

Oh, and now it's "rich" old white guys progs need to insult, not just old white guys. How many thousands of links do I need to direct you to in order to prove how ridiculous your deflecting is?

Yes. Cruz lied. Now you get it.

Cruz is my senator. He's a nasty piece of work. He really is. Anyone who votes for such a person is totally naiive or doesn't care one bit about the country. We have seen Cruz do things in total opposition to the best interests of the country and for no other reason than hopefully benefit himself (like forcing a shutdown of the country a couple of years ago in protest over Obamacare...now I hate Obamacare, but the only thing that shutting down the govt could have possibly done, and did do, is harm the country, cause people to lose income or even their jobs, and accomplish nothing whatsoever about Obamacare; what it did do was get his name in the public eye, in preparation for him running for President). That is someone who is a nasty piece of work. He's unethical and doesn't care about the country or you and me.

Notice that no other candidate pulled the "Carson is dropping out" stunt. That was unethical, and that is par for the course for Cruz.

Cruz admitted he made a mistake, but like all politicians, he didn't fully own it. I hate TC, but, I don't really hold this against him. He heard Carson was "taking a break" and ran with it. I would have too. But I agree that there is more to this than just that.

The bigger problem, IMO, is that Cruz kept spinning. What he should have done was admit that his campaign was a bit over zealous in its interpretation of Carson's break, they read it incorrectly and inappropriately spun it to mean something that it was not. It's a clear case of someone refusing to take responsibility for their actions...probably a requirement for a politician.

NO. It was a series of short tweets that took place within TWO MINUTES. TWICE the CNN tweets said, "CARSON IS NOT DROPPING OUT." Then CNN gave Carson's itinerary...where he was going and to do what. CRUZ WAS LYING. No one could possibly have misinterpreted anything CNN tweeted.

This is Cruz's M.O.

I saw the CNN broadcast when it originally aired. Cruz's campaign spun it, knowing that if caucus goers had seen the broadcast or heard the news from another source, that it would be very simple to spin it that Carson supporters would be caucusing for nothing and should move over to Cruz' group to be counted.

It's bare knuckles politics, it was a lie, and it should be hammered home by all the other candidates about how dishonest Cruz and his campaign can be. We've had almost 8 years of a President lying to us every day, do we really want 4 more years of the same from another guy?

That's a whole lot of rhetoric to be spewing out without providing any specifics.

I don't know why everyone is so outraged by this tactic. It's not like Cruz did anything new, after all. Heck, how many times has Obama said stuff, which later was identified as a lie, and then he explained what he "really meant"? Even Reid outright lied about Romney and after the lie had the desired effect, he even admitted that he lied. Did anyone object...at the time of the lie or after?

Nah...

So...after getting their asses handed to them in two Presidential races the Republicans are starting to use the left's tactics...and everyone is shocked?

Give me a break, folks.

I'm indifferent to Cruz, but this dog whistle from Proglitifact is laughable. Cruz didn't lie. That in itself is a lie, but not unexpected when the whistle blower is seeking reaction from the pack. Cruz supporters ran with CNN's report. Are they required to vet the information, or take CNN for it's word?

As to shutting down the government, I'm 100% in support of doing so when necessary. As it is, this "shut down" calamity claim is nothing but political folly. These spending bills get loaded with BS for the express purpose of backing one party into a corner. Then the threat is used to stir up the uninformed, low information voters. What a joke.

Ahhh more carny template, more Conservative double down... You don't want to face the facts, you want to attack your favorite myth... socialist progressive news sources...

You refusing to let go ONE source, and ignoring the PRIMARY news sources shows you really don't care about facts, just beating your favorite dead horse... :doh

More Carny tactics, YOU brought old whites guys into the discussion to attack Bernie and THEN claim I'm insulting white guys.... :doh

I dunno. The link in the OP is where I got the conversation quote. While PolitiFact doesn't blame CNN either, I still think their wording was suggestive. Plus, PF updated that page to add:

During the discussion, CNN's lower-third graphic does say "CAMPAIGN: CARSON TO TAKE A BREAK AFTER IOWA."

I think we can safely say that had CNN not had that discussion and not put that graphic on their screen, that the Cruz campaign would have nothing to run with.

I think the Cruzies jumped the gun -- but CNN fired the bullet and didn't seem to care where it landed.

I've mentioned CNN multiple times. What are you trying to invent now?

Proglitifact is the primary subject of the OP, as is their laughable subjective conclusion.

As to myth, who is the Poynter Institute, and what is their affiliation with the Knight Foundation, Open Society Foundation, Tides Foundation, Ford Foundation and many other Progressive Machine operations?

With all your carney talk, perhaps you should get out of the center ring, the clown act has been called out, and the trapeze act is due to come out. :lamo

Thank you for repeating the on air banter between the reporters. Not one word of that said Carson was quitting which was what the Cruz campaign reported it as. And within a minute the NCC reporter who made the initial tween made it very clear that Carson was NOT dropping out. But last night Cruz is sticking to the erroneous three hour claim which is obviously false.

It is obvious that Cruz isn't the christian moral paragon and will and has engaged in falsehoods and trickery to get any edge he can. And in the case of Iowa, it may have helped him win by hurting Carson.
