Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders is in “very good health,” according to a letter from the attending physician in Congress released Thursday by Sanders’s campaign.
Brian P. Monahan, who said his office has served as the 74-year-old senator’s physician for 26 years, detailed a history of relatively minor medical procedures, including hernia repairs and the removal of a cyst from his vocal cord, and said Sanders has no history of cardiovascular disease.

“You are overall in very good health and active in your professional work, and recreational lifestyle without limitation,” Monahan wrote in a single-page letter to the senator from Vermont dated Jan. 20.

If elected president, Sanders would be 75 on Inauguration Day, the oldest man to take the oath of office. Ronald Reagan, who currently holds that distinction, took office in 1981 a few days before his 70th birthday.

Earlier this month, Sanders pledged to release his records before the Iowa caucuses, which take place Monday.

Hmmm.. Well I guess thats a good sign. He did pledge to release his records before Monday.. This isnt his full medical records but it definitely is a good sign.

I wish him well. This is a demanding job even for a younger person, so I wonder what toll the demands might take on a 75 year old man with no serious issues, and bear in mind that's when he assumes office. He's 79 at the end of his first term. Maybe Hillary will be out of Federal prison by then. There's that.

I apologize for that second part there - the part about Hillary. Tasteless.

I don't think this surprises anyone. The guy is an energizer bunny. Still, it isn't uncalled for to consider his age when taking everything into consideration.

Yes, if he wins he will be the oldest elected President. But then so would Trump. And Hillary misses the record by just a few months.

We got some old folks this time around, don't we? :)

I'd honestly be more concerned about the establishment killing him than I would him croaking from a health concern. Some of his proposed policies make JFK look Republican.

the Office drastically ages everyone who holds it....

Bernie will be 75 going in, if he wins... but after 4 years, he'll be like, 117 or something.

anyways, i'm glad he's in good health.... good health to a 75 years old isn't he same as good health to a 25 years old, but it's still good he's alive and kickin well.
