Time to take Sanders seriously?

The Republican partly long ago lost control of this primary, and a lot of the people who will be voting for trump, probably the majority even in the primary, dont consider themselves to be Republican.

If Trump does not get to 50% +1 the insiders might try to beat Trump in a floor fight, Trump is certainly expecting this, but last week R insiders were saying that they will only do that if Cruz is leading in delegates, that they will Take Trump without a fight. Now they are claiming that this is fine because once Trump is on the chair they can give him on the job training and that he will have to follow their lead, which is delusional, but none the less it is the best story they have to tell the R faithful who are distraught that only Trump and Cruz are getting traction.

Trump is the surest path to a Republican loss in a race that's theirs to lose.

Every time people like Karl Rove say that more Americans say to themselves "hey, this Trump fella might be the real deal, maybe I should vote for him", than say " Hey wait a minute, maybe Trump is a bad idea".

Me, I am not a Republican, I am wanting the R party killed off along with the D party, so I dont have a horse in the race. Also, I know that Trump does not care, he could work with the D's as well as he could work with the R's, and all of the palace intrigue between the two parties over the years has hurt America greatly, so I would not mind at all if Trump shredded business as usual in Washington.

Did you see Trump at the Tea party thing the other night (thursday?), he got quite a few boos, and I assure you that he thinks their boos are going to work for him in the general, and he his probably right, because so far in this race he has rarely been wrong. I think it was DEC when he was in front of the Israel lobby and he did the same thing, he says what ever he wants, and takes the animosity as a plus, because he knows where America is, and it is not with the special interests groups who have been running things.

That is a new tone for you. I'll bet that you are thinking back to all those times over the last two years when I told you that the R leadership was convinced that Hillary would be easy to beat, and you dismissed such talk as delusion. Or maybe all those times that I Claimed that Hillary is a poor politician with a resume almost devoid of accomplishments.

I think that is overstating the case, Hawk...but I will concede that all of my early thoughts about this election are being flushed.

I never thought Bernie had even a snowball's chance.

I never thought Trump had even a snowball's chance.

Now...it would not shock me if the two were the standard bearers...although I still am unconvinced that will be the case.

Like I said...very interesting election.

European flavored Democratic Socialism vs. Republican Facism....

Shall we flip a coin or do eenie-meenie-miney-mo?

And things are just getting started. We have half a chance of having at least one very thrilling convention, and we might get two. THis race is a blast and a half.

Well done sir, I had been told by some that you never can be convinced to change your mind once you set it.

Obviously those evaluations were in error.

if banning political parties came up for a referendum, i'd vote yes.

as for Trump, his temperament and complete lack of nuance makes him unfit for office. i don't trust him to run the most powerful military that the world has ever known.

Neither one. Let's all vote for who we deem to be the best president, then let's get behind whoever wins and stop the stupid partisan sniping once and for all.

There's a novel solution!

Why not, indeed!

I really don't know. Maybe it's more satisfying to huddle in your home on election day thinking about how evil the other side is and how "they" have rigged the election anyway.

Sanders is not going to win. Voters rarely choose the oddball candidate. In this celebrity culture, appearances matter more than substance, not that he has any of that either.

So, maybe it is time to take him seriously.

And the media is biased toward.... Democrats???

and that "flawed candidate" just might have enough flaws to allow a self described "socialist" to get the Democratic nomination, and run against a very much flawed candidate on the Republican side.

Hang on, guys, this is going to be a wild ride.

And it is straight down hill any way one looks at it. Watch out fro that rapidly approaching bottom and sudden stop it is gonna hurt, Bad.

Nice dream, now back to reality.

Unfortunately, that's what it is, just a dream. This country is more divided now than it has been since the height of the Vietnam war, and it's not just about a single issue now. I'm not sure it's really about any issue. It's like we've divided ourselves into two teams intent on the superbowl, only the fans on each side think disaster will strike if they lose.

True the Nation is very divided and some of us out here do not see that it will be changing any time soon if ever. I personally think the Grand Experiment has run it's course and all it will take is the right spark and the entire house of cards will self implode and no there will be no super bowl winner this time around but there will be a lot of losers. Sad to witness but I see nothing that looks as if it can stop the runaway train and for many they do not want it stopped.

Its a good design, its just been ruined from within by lack of participation in protecting it. Not much that can be done when the majority country doesnt agree with the constitution, and simply ignores it. Its time to abolish it and start over.

Since I officially endorsed Bern baby Bern as the democrat nominee, his popularity has soared. Could be a cowinkydink though.

Not without a whole lot of bloodshed.

How so? All that a state has to do is simply declare independence and stop participating. Are the rest of the states really going to go kill citizens because they want to be free? Its one thing to kill people with slavery as a motive. And another to kill conservatives for wanting to go their own way, in an age of 24/7 media.

The simple answer to you question is , Yes they will. Those that ignore history are doomed to repeat it.
