So. I have been a bad voter going into this election year. The last two elections, I delved deeply into the candidates, both their personal websites, websites that discussed them, and the Republican, Democrat, and Indepen... (LOL I almost said it with a straight face) debates.
This time around I have not done a great deal of research other than checking up on claims made about candidates and I have not watched the debates (other than circus show clips that the media flocks to like so many vultures).

So, admitting that I've been a bad boy, can anyone tell me who has presented their best plan going forward for America, specifically in promoting economic growth, jobs, winning the war against terrorism (domestic, ISIS, etc.), health care, and any other major items in your opinion (without getting into debates on the items themselves...debates on whether the plans are feasible or not are cool though)?
Why do you like plan X?

From past experience, debates tend to boil down to "I'm not THIS guy and didn't do THIS bad thing...". I'm not interested in that. I'm interested in the important stuff. Mud slinging is just a smoke screen IMHO.

That depends on your political ideology. I think this would be the most likely to help you:

This seems like a who is your favorite X (pundit, candidate, party, news source...) and why thread. I would suggest simply doing what made you feel less like a "low information" voter in the past. ;)

Except I do like people's opinions.
I also like to nudge thinking about a favorite candidate's plans for the country.

Not a one of them has laid out a good plan for America.

They are all still too busy trying to obtain support from their various bases to really release all that much that attempts to appeal to all Americans. In fact, that rarely happens anyway in a general election setting as our division oriented politics drowns out any real interest in bettering the nation overall.

So it comes down to typical partisan rhetoric being assumed to be "best plan for America."

Then we wonder why things are not really that better off no matter who is President or which party controls Congress.

Entertaining. Evidently I have little in common with Rand Paul. But it doesn't really address any of the issues I mentioned in the OP. A lot of this seems to be what I would call "smokescreen" issues.

Then let's flip this around. What do you consider to be "not" a smokescreen issue?

Does anyone remember back in the day when candidates wrote long policy papers and people cared and read them? Then we did a lot of years when candidates put out long policy papers because it was expected by the journalists, they wanted to have something to write about, but really no one cared.

Ya, candidates don't bother to waste the time now usually.

Sanders might have one or two, but I have not been motivated to look see.

Nobody has laid out a plan that's good for US. As usual, the myth of the Middle Class will receive short shrift. An anti Hepatitis drug program that costs $1400 to make retails for $85,000 (you've seen the commercials, but they don't tell you the costs). Wall Street still runs the American economy, it takes umpteen million dollars to get elected to anything, American education will still be in the tank, the Saudi family runs the Middle East, and the radical right-wing still has the GOP held hostage.

Nobody will address or fix any of that upon election - that's why they have no plans for any of it.

If you want the best plan you first eliminate all the Republican Candidates.

Obama has us on a slow recovery in spite of Republican efforts to screw him up.

Mrs. Clinton as a corporatist will continue Obama's recovery and punish the Republicans for their bad behavior.

Clinton is the best you can get.

If you think somebody else has a better dream for you, you'd better get with reality before you get in the voting booth.

Imo, Sanders is the best candidate. He's got good plans on investing in America, and he explains how he'll pay for each policy.

None have put forward and detailed plans, so far it is just pandering to the sheep, good luck waiting for that detailed plan to show up, right now the only answer is None of the Above, me thinks it should be a choice on the ballet.
