What the establishment fears most about Donald Trump [W:133]

You are, in heart and mind. You still parrot the narrative?

I guess that is why you were so useful to them. You believed in the cause. You were involved in South America during the 1980's I guess 'combating communism'?

Africa and Europe. The "narrative" as you call it has the advantage of being true.

Because you say it is true? So it is true just because you say it is true? Just because the government also says it is true?

Africa and Europe. Fairly mundane dealing with propaganda and information warfare/infiltration combating the communist/'anti-american' messages.

Here is a good question for you- Have you ever thought that you could be wrong?

My work was intelligence collection.

There is that. He might be successful and it could land us in a nuclear war. That is, what I love about Cracker Jack. You never know, what you will get.
The motivation for Donald Trump's supporters is "knowing what you're not going to get"!

Which are; the same-ole PC Policies that perpetuate this forever escalating mess we're in!

Flying the American flag at half mast is fitting considering the content of your OP. A Trump Presidency truly would be the death of much of what makes America great and a beacon of decency and hope to many around the world.
The purpose of the "half mast flag" was actually to draw attention to the decades of PC Policies which have been responsible for the slow steady erosion of America's greatness!

What makes you think being the opposite of politically correct is a worthwhile goal ?

The purpose of a half mast flag is not related to PC policies, how can you suggest something like this ?

What the Establishment hierarchy, both left and right, fear most about a Donald Trump Presidency is that his bold and radical proposals could actually succeed in solving many of America's problems!

Why? Because Trump's success would expose the destructive failures of the Politicly Correct Policies long practiced by Establishment DemoPublicans and bring about an end to their political monopoly!

What say you my fellow members? :hm

I have NO intention of voting for someone simply because they are politically incorrect. Anyone can run off their mouth and make a segment of society jump for joy, but I expect more from someone I would vote for President. Trump is entertaining, for a short time, but he is not what this Nation needs in the Oval Office. He may be shaking a few people out of their complacency and occasionally saying things people agree with but the man is a total arse and would do far more harm to this Nation than he would ever for good. This Nation needs a real Statesman, not an Ego Filled Narcissist, the Nation would not survive his brand of "leadership".

I'm all about doing away with political correctness and the other candidates should certainly take a page from the Trump playbook along those lines but let's look at what he's really saying:
IMO; I don't believe most of America actually gets what Trump is "really saying"!

The reason being; his blatant honesty doesn't follow the standard guidelines and taboos of American politics!

And while some Trump supporters love his straight talk; it literally shocks the be-jesus out of many!

His China policy (source - https://www.donaldjtrump.com/

Those are nifty ideas but he has no authority to change anything in China. If they agree with him then great but if they tell him to go screw himself nothing changes.
The "change" Trump speaks of has nothing to do with "authority" and everything to do with leverage!

His tax simplification idea is nothing more than populist drivel. Our economy is incredibly complex and since taxation is rooted in the economy the tax code is also necessarily complex. This idea of a "fix" for the tax code is every bit the farce that "fixes" for gun control and medical care are. His immigration ideas are the best of the bunch but stuff like "Make Mexico pay for the wall" and "Do away with birthright citizenship" are nothing more than sloganeering.

The guy definitely has charisma. He's also got a whole truckload of chutzpah. That's great but I'm sick and tired of empty promises.
Oh Luther; your defeatist attitude is unwarranted in light of all the conventional fixes that have went FLOP!

McCain was not the problem. It was the risk that his vp could have become President.
McCain's VP choice was probably the only thing the poor little RINO got right!

This is obvious by the fear that Palin struck in the hearts and minds of the Main Stream Media which sparked the most ruthless 'campaign of hate' in the history of journalism!

They knew they were not going to win with McCain because of the economy. They had a shot with Romney before he had to move so far to the right in the primaries that he was unelectable in the general.
Exactly which of Romney's policies do you believe were "moves so far to the right"???

You have a member? Er...oh...never mind.

I agree with this (more or less):

You're obviously unaware that you're in agreement with a radical brainwashed marxist simpleton!

Consider this_ Historically; the world's most murderous and oppressive "fascists" have been Socialists!

If Trump wins USA will have no credibility with the global community. And US leftists will end up rioting. It will be the end for USA.
..... Go Trump!!!!
No; it would be the end of "US leftists"__Seriously!

You lefties hate guns; remember?! And those righties love them!

And most of those righties are pretty good shots! :giggle1:

Are you seriously giggling about the thought of shooting leftists ?

You may not care for his political views but Matt Taibbi is a very good writer and I think that he and Charles P Pierce over on the Esquire Politics blog are two of the more perceptive political writers of our time. I do know that some who comment here in the forums will disagree with my opinion.

In his most recent Rolling Stone piece, Taibbi points out one of the more obvious bits of chicanery which is an innate part of the Trump fiasco.

Trump had spent his entire career lending his name to luxury properties that promised exclusivity and separation from exactly the sort of struggling Joes who turned out for these speeches. If you live in a Trump building in a place like the Upper West Side, it's supposed to mean that you're too cosmopolitan, stylish, and successful — too smart-set — to mix with the rabble.

But the rabble — white, working-class, rural, despising exactly those big-city elites who live in Trump's buildings — turned out to be Trump's base. They're the people who hooted and hollered every time he said something off-color about Muslims or Mexicans or Asians ("We want deal!" Trump snickered earlier this year, in a Chinese-waiter voice) or "the blacks."

It was a bizarre marriage, but it made sense from from a clinical point of view. Attention is attention. Patient with narcissistic personality disorder discovers massive source of narcissistic supply, so he sets about securing its regular delivery.

The final paragraph in this article is a decent summation of what we have to look forward to in 2016

The Silent Majority has been waiting 50 years for a prophet, but this year it settled for a billionaire loudmouth with a comb-over and a personality disorder. Like all comedies, this one is bound to end with an explosion of unintended consequences. What we won't know until 2016 is whether this joke will end up being on all of us — or just those of us who waited too long to take Trump's accidental war seriously.
