What the Establishment hierarchy, both left and right, fear most about a Donald Trump Presidency is that his bold and radical proposals could actually succeed in solving many of America's problems!

Why? Because Trump's success would expose the destructive failures of the Politicly Correct Policies long practiced by Establishment DemoPublicans and bring about an end to their political monopoly!

What say you my fellow members? :hm

Actually what the Republican establishment is afraid of with Donald Trump is that they know he would go down like George McGovern or Barry Goldwater in a general election and since they want to win, they don't want him as their candidate. Most of them have the same (and very justifiable fear) about Ted Cruz.

Donald Trump preys and attracts the ignorant, the bigots, the apolitical, the racists, the scared and weak, the American fascists.

Donald Trump and many of his supporters are American fascists.
What does that mean?

"A fascist is one whose lust for money or power is combined with such an intensity of intolerance toward those of other races, parties, classes, religions, cultures, regions or nations as to make him ruthless in his use of deceit or violence to attain his ends. The supreme god of a fascist, to which his ends are directed, may be money or power; may be a race or a class; may be a military, clique or an economic group; or may be a culture, religion, or a political party... The American fascist would prefer not to use violence. His method is to poison the channels of public information. With a fascist the problem is never how best to present the truth to the public but how best to use the news to deceive the public into giving the fascist and his group more money or more power... American fascism will not be really dangerous until there is a purposeful coalition among the cartelists, the deliberate poisoners of public information, and those who stand for the K.K.K. type of demagoguery... The symptoms of fascist thinking are colored by environment and adapted to immediate circumstances. But always and everywhere they can be identified by their appeal to prejudice and by the desire to play upon the fears and vanities of different groups in order to gain power... The American fascists are most easily recognized by their deliberate perversion of truth and fact. Their newspapers and propaganda carefully cultivate every fissure of disunity, every crack in the common front against fascism. They use every opportunity to impugn democracy. They use isolationism as a slogan to conceal their own selfish imperialism. They cultivate hate and distrust."
Henry A. Wallace, The Danger of American Fascism

What proposals? So far all I've seen out of the guy is bumper sticker slogans. He's flinging red meat to the masses and that's working for now but if wants to be taken seriously he needs to come up with some actual, viable plans.

The Establishment doesn't care one way or the other about America's problems. The Establishment doesn't want Trump, or Sanders for that matter, because they don't believe they would be able to control or influence them. And they're probably right about that.

Empirica !!! Welcome back !!! You have been absent for a long time ... .

We'll just need to see if Trump gets elected.

Then we'll need to see if he does a good job.

I think he would be a lot like Reagan and FDR ... a fix-it man.

I think he will probably fix a lot of things unconventionally.

Correct. A man as rich as Trump is uncontrollable.

Same is true of Putin though. Putin is extremely rich as well.

Hopefully the two of them will get along.

I think Putin would take Trump seriously.

And I think Trump would be reasonable with Putin also.

Trump is in support of 2A and CCW. Big gold star for that one.

Trump is in favor of securing the Mexican border. Big job ahead and needs to be done.

Trump is in favor of strong armed forces -- Army Navy USAF.

Trump is in favor of annihilation of ISIS/ISIL the new name for Al Qaeda. He is not an isolationist pacifist like BHO.

Trump is in favor of negotiations with Putin.

That's a start. The rest would need to be negotiated with McConnell and Ryan.

That leaves Rubio/Kasich.

Good analysis.

The party establishments want to win. That is why they don't want Trump, Cruz, Carson, or on the Dem side, Sanders as their candidate.

Right, Rubio is by far the most electable candidate the Republicans have and him and Kasich (and possibly Christie) are the only ones the Democrats are afraid to run against. Their dream would be to run against Trump, Carson, or Cruz. Not only would they all lose by a good margin, they would most likely take down a lot of down ticket GOP candidates with them.

I swear, the GOP base has to be the most unaware voting block in the history of the country. They think they want a guy like Trump because he will deport all the illegals. They don't get that no candidate can win a national election without appealing to minorities as well. The further to the right they move, the smaller their voting block will be in the general election.

The voters that show up at the polls in midterm elections are nothing demographically like the voters that show up at the polls in presidential elections.

Flying the American flag at half mast is fitting considering the content of your OP. A Trump Presidency truly would be the death of much of what makes America great and a beacon of decency and hope to many around the world.

Well the GOP brought us Sarah Palin so what does that tell you about it's base ???

Hog wild stupid.

Might be a breath of fresh air though too.

What the republicant establishment fears most is Hillary getting elected as POTUS. What the demorat establishment fears most is a republicant majority in congress. What I fear most is that our 535 congress critters (no matter which party is in the White House or has a congressional majority) keep growing the federal governement.

Please more thoroughly complete your syllogism (if/then statement) with some kind of justification of the statement.

I'll wait until you expand on your suggestion that a President Trump would be "a breath of fresh air".

What exactly is a the party establishment?

Cruz? McCain? Palin...the eye of the beholder. My father has had a GOP membership for over 55 years...is he establishment?

Obviously with a combined support of over 50%, many long term party members don't fear Trump or Cruz.

No such body exists.

Much like "low information voter," I tend to believe that labels of the "establishment" are mostly used synonymously with the "people that I don't agree with."

gop party money come from arab oil and ...arab.....
arabs rich are very angry now.

There is that. He might be successful and it could land us in a nuclear war. That is, what I love about Cracker Jack. You never know, what you will get.

Ok here goes:

Candidate Trump is from a business background not politics nor public office.

Candidate Trump is a Washington outsider.

Candidate Trump's ideas and pronouncements are not standard Wash DC rhetoric.

Candidate Trump appeals to the common people in the GOP.

Ergo Candidate Trump is a breath of fresh air.

Ok your turn.
