Yes, because she was talking about Trump right before she said it, and she went on to say "he..." right after she said it. One only had to pass 2nd grade grammar and not be blindly partisan to know that. Apparently you can't claim either one. No surprise.

That was Hillary. It doesn't count. It's more fun to ignore obvious meanings of words and make it seem like New Hampshire has this woman as a "leader" (in a part time job) than it is to be even handed. Where's the partisan fun in that?

A woman who called President Barack Obama a liar on CNN and said she had never been involved in politics until being energized by the candidacy of Donald Trump is in fact a far-right elected leader for the state of New Hampshire.

Susan DeLemus was elected in 2010 as a Republican to the state House of Representatives. DeLemus is a “birther,” meaning she is a conspiracy theorist who believes Obama was not born in the United States.

In 2011, DeLemus was one of the state lawmakers who fought to keep Obama’s name off state ballots because they believed he was a “treasonous liar” who wasn’t born in the States, according to the Atlantic.

“It just makes me want to throw up,” Rep. Susan DeLemus had said at the time. “Let’s just bury the Constitution now and have a funeral.”

DeLemus’ husband, Jerry DeLemus was part of the armed insurgency at Bundy Ranch in Nevada last year. He also made an unsuccessful run for sheriff. In 2012, the DeLemus couple had endorsed far-right Republican Rick Santorum.

The couple has participated in CNN panels about Trump’s 2016 candidacy in the past, but Susan DeLemus was again not identified as a lawmaker.

Here is Sue DeLemus on a CNN panel, where she says she “never had an interest in politics” until Donald Trump. “Now suddenly he is resonating.”

You confuse me for someone who supports Trump and needs to provide excuses for the strange things Trump supporters say and do. Thank you, but I'll pass on that onerous responsibility.

That said, I listened to the link you posted and I have no problem believing that TB's interpretation of the comments are just as valid if not far more so than your interpretation of her comments. Like it or not, part of Trump's shtick is that he's an outsider, never run for office and never been in politics. Seems to me, that's what she was referring to. I appreciate that you would believe that anyone who supports Donald Trump is an idiot - I'd agree with you - but to call her a liar is to believe that she went on national television and said she's never been in politics when the State of New Hampshire would well know she is, that's just claiming a little too much.

That's very interesting to me that House members in NH are part time and only get paid about $200 annually. Do you find that brings out people sufficiently interested in good government and committed to spending the time necessary? We do hear a lot about making politics more attractive to the most intelligent, committed people and money is often listed as one of the blocks against getting the best to run.

For it to make sense would be if Trump had never been involved in politics before, and never had an interest in it - when he has inserted himself in politics for decades.

We have a House and a Senate. The Senators are real lawmakers. That's a full time job. The House reps show up in Concord once in a while, a few times a month, and only for a few months of the year. I know the reps from my town (all Republicans). They're all business people, and they primarily fight against income taxes, casinos, and that sort of thing. They vote on budgets and pensions and that sort of thing. They elect a Speaker, and he works with the Senate President, and he's the only one anyone would consider a "leader". The job, such as it is, doesn't require much participation. It's slightly more glamorous than being on the town school board. Oh, and they get a special license plate, too.

Nobody who knows anything about the NH House would call one of its 400 members a "leader". It's one of the largest legislative bodies in the world, believe it or not. Each person represents something like 3000 NH residents.
