The way it works is the states vote in primaries similar to the federal election. The Republican (and Democrat) parties in those states hold elections for the people to chose the nominee for the party and that's how they are decided. Ultimately they are chosen by the voters to run in that party and are then voted on for the office of president.

No. Not true.

No, as the rules stand now party leadership will not override the nomination process. Assuming for a moment that Trump wins enough of the State nominations it is unlikely that the Party (at the convention, post the nomination process) would do something to negate that. It would take extraordinary circumstances for something like a party override to occur. Like a candidate passing, or facing criminal charges, or something along those lines. And even then there is process to dealing with alternates.

Besides, Bush isn't even in the race polling wise.

Not all states have a binding primary or caucus in which the delegates must cast their vote at the wish of the people. Also delegates are not divided up the same in all states. Some states apply all votes to the candidate that wins the primary and some states apply the votes at the same percentage as the primary vote. Some states have super delegates that cast their vote at their own discretion.

No. If Trump wins enough primary votes, he's the candidate, and the RNC is just screwed.

While true, mostly, I do not think that was the nature of the question. As I read it I think he was asking if the Republican Party leadership on their own accord can override the results of the Convention (the results of the individual State primaries.) As things stand now it is extremely unlikely they would try to.

Oh I know. I was just trying to confuse the op some more.

primary votes ؟
HOW MANY.PLEASE EXPLAIN IT

From the states. So we have primary elections (of one kind or another) in each of the States, and the candidates collect delegates. The guy who brings the most delegates to the convention wins. The RNC doesn't get to over-turn the vote of the delegates.

1:
FOR EXAMPLE.IF TRUMP WON 45%
THEN WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

If nobody gets 51% of the vote, then they vote again until someone does. 45% will not win the nomination, even if it is the most votes for one candidate.

2:
for example .California always did vote democrat and texas did vote republican

The Democrats and Republicans have separate conventions. The delegates do not cross over from one convention to the other. Therefore, the Republican delegates can only vote for a Republican candidate and the Democrat delegates can only vote for a Democrat candidate.

in gop election.california is important like texas or ...........??
please explain

Yes, big States are important because they have the largest number of votes. Delegates are allocated to each State based on population. So the States with the most population get the most delegates.

No, although if no one got a majority of delegates, then the candidates would have to make a deal amongst themselves regarding who would make their delegates vote for who, although that has never actually happened.

The size of a state affects how many delegates they get, but the proportion of the state that voted Republican in the last presidential election also affects how many Republican delegates they get.

I KNOW THAT Democrats and Republicans have separate conventions.
but for example.vot of california shouldnt be important for republican.

Since they have separate conventions, they have separate delegates. The delegates do not come from the same pool. The Democrats will send their own delegates to the DNC Convention, and the Republicans will send their own delegates to the RNC convention regardless of how the population votes in the general election.

Therefore, California is very important because it has 172 delegates at the GOP convention. That is more than any other state.

Here are the Republican delegates by state:

I'm curious Dani67. Are you afraid of Trump? You seem preoccupied with him. Would you rather have Trump or Bush or someone else, or would you rather see a Democrat be president?

The party generally can not override an elected candidate unless they change their own rules. The only legitimate way the gop could choose it's own candidate would be a too close to call primary, where party leadership would vote as a tiebreaker scenario.
