An Early Look at Republican Presidential Contenders for 2016

I doubt it. Outside California, nobody knows who she is. We only know her here because of the ridiculous campaign she tried to run for Senate.

People who pay attention to politics know who she is. I would agree that she's ridiculous. It's nice to see a raging liberal like yourself saying it. :)

She's never held office and she got fired for incompetence as HP CEO. What qualifies her to be President? She will not be taken seriously by anyone.

Wait.... surely you're not suggesting that some kind of extensive experience in federal government and/or a record of competency in executive positions is a desired prerequisite for the position of POTUS, are you?

Yes, you should have some experience serving in lower office before becoming President of the United States, not necessarily "executive". Some of our worst Presidents were state Governors....but yes, you should have some prior experience in politics. Getting fired as an HP CEO is not the type of resume one would want for a President.

Well, we may have some others decide yea or nay now.....As the Debate List is now out for the GOP Primaries.

Ted Cruz will launch in this first Quarter.....he hired Perry's Former Campaign Strategist. Roe.....A Framer for messaging, Jason Miller.....former Romney staff, and Laura Lofstrom who will be handling fundraising. He did mention something about hitting the ground and running.

Needs to run to a Chair and sit his ass down.

12 keys to the GOP presidential race right now.....

As the Freedom Summit marks the unofficial start of the 2016 Republican presidential campaign here in Iowa, the race is already too sprawling, with too many characters and too many crosscurrents, to have a single theme. But here are a dozen keys to understand what is happening now:

1. The candidates who have run before — Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum — all think they can get their teams back together for another race. They can't. Each man has been in touch with staff and supporters from 2008 and 2012, with the assumption that the people who were willing to work for them back then will do so again in 2016. But the world has changed; issues have changed and new candidates have emerged. Moderates who backed Romney now have Jeb Bush and Chris Christie to consider, while conservatives who backed Huckabee and Santorum have Ted Cruz and Ben Carson. Even if the veterans run again, they won't be able to recreate what they had before. They'll have to do something different......snip~

Well after the Romney and Bush meet. Things just got a whole lot tougher for the Mitt.

It begins: Top Romney advisor jumps ship to Jeb Bush, will serve as national campaign manager.....

But back to the timing. This splashy announcement about a key player in Romneyworld defecting to Bush just so happens to coincide with a splashy new story from the AP about lots of key players in Romneyworld defecting to Bush.

Along with Wagner and Durkin, Bush has also claimed Romney’s 2012 Texas finance director, Allison McIntosh, and Sondland, who helped raise millions for Romney and the super PAC that supported his candidacy…..snip~

Greetings, MMC. :2wave:

I find this hard to believe because I don't think Romney was ever seriously considering running in the first place, and why on earth would Bush hire a Romney man as his campaign manager? It just doesn't compute...

Mitt probably told his guys they were free agents because he would not run if Jeb ran.

Heya Lady P.....it just wasn't Romney's Campaign Manager. It's donors plus the Texas Finance Director. Moreover the Get together in Iowa was unofficially the start of Campaign Fever. So like the piece says. Romney has a couple of weeks to make a decision.

Did you miss the Koch get together last weekend?
Or the Adelson summit last year?
There's a face common to both still flying under your radar--Reince's boy .

Well, after their Meeting that's when CNN caught up with how much Bush has been bringing in already. Still Romney did obtain his Attorney that can get him on the State Ballots.

Analyzing the GOP field I think the strongest national ticket would be Kasich/Rubio. Wouldn't be surprised Kasich is who Romney is referring to when he stated the other day "I believe that one of our next generation of Republican leaders, one who may not be as well known as I am today, one who has not yet taken their message across the country, one who is just getting started, may well emerge as being better able to defeat the Democrat nominee. In fact, I expect and hope that to be the case." A close advisor to Romney is quoted in a recent article that Romney likes Kasich as presidential material, and not high on the other probable GOP candidates.

Word is, Bush is trying to force Rubio out even made him the offer when Rubio ran for Governor of Florida he would get Bush's backing.....and then Bush Flexed Political muster when meeting Romney. Especially over donors. Whom both were getting many of the same. Romney already had people from his team going with others. Bush is pulling in 6 figures damn near weekly.

Michael Murphy is behind Bush and what they are running. Pretty much they think they can run rampshod over the majority. Murphy's concern was Romney, Rubio, and Walker, at this time.

Although should Kasich get in.....Kasich only needs money and Bush then become a dead end deal. I'm hoping he heard how Bush has been playing Rubio. Jump in and Grab Rubio as his VP. Then Bush becomes an even bigger mute point.

Interesting speculation, but Kasich does not qualify as "next generation" as he is just two years Romney's junior. He was more likely referring to Walker, if he was specific at all. Its really more likely that it was a parting slam on Bush.

Well don't forget Kasich has taken on the Bush Family before. He isn't worried about taking them on, other than having the money to do it. If ya don't have the money.....then you wont have the chance.
