Hillary Adviser: Bush-Portman Ticket Could Doom Dems in 2016.....

the point is that the vote cast in a Presidential election is always more heavily Democratic than in a non-presidential election. Losing the 2014 mid-terms was the best thing that could happen to whoever winds up the Democratic candidate for President.

Relieved from the necessity of guarding cities and particular points, important but not vital to our defense, with an army free to move from point to point and strike in detail the detachments and garrisons of the enemy, operating on the interior of our own country, where supplies are more accessible, and where the foe will be far removed from his own base and cut off from all succor in case of reverse, nothing is now needed to render our triumph certain but the exhibition of our own unquenchable resolve. Let us but will it, and we are free; and who, in the light of the past, dare doubt your purpose in the future?

--Jefferson Davis to the people of the Confederacy after the fall of Richmond

Yep. Though, I can understand the libs despair, they thought repubs would never win again and said as much. Some are still saying that after the midterms. Denial can be a turrible thing.

Heya CB. :2wave: Well there is no doubt BO peep was running around and talking about how Conservative Ideology doesn't work.....yet if such was the case. Then there would be no reason to constantly attack them and degrade them.

Nor would the Demos have to resort to all their underhandedness and go by their theory of dividing up the country. Just to have a chance to win and their party remain relevant.

Not really.....as all we need do is look at Bilbo Clinton's Presidential Mid Term and his Last 2 years.

Lets not forget that BO has 2 more years to prove that he will screw up more things for this country.

My only question is when will he finally show that Yellow Stripe that is part of his DNA. As he can't prevent it from coming out.

Yes, because when republicans talk about immigrants from Honduras, Guatemala and other Latin American nations spreading disease (the first and third video) or Mexican schoolchildren who hate america and want to take over the US, it has nothing to do with Hispanics.

What they are using is anti illegal rhetoric. Meaning, all immigrants should follow the rule of law.
Take a look at the 'green card application process' and then tell me that stealing oneself across the border meets any of the requirements? How many illegals pass a criminal or medical background check? So yeah, suspecting that diseases are being spread by those who, i.e., aren't vaccinated by our current standards is stating a fact, it is not discrimination.

Ask the HIspanics. I'm sure they'd be happy to tell you. The short answer is that the Republican objection to doing anything about immigration reform - aside from Romney's ludicrous 'self deportation' nonsense, and their threats to impeach the President for at least trying to do something - has doomed them in the eyes of Hispanic voters.

Except that suggesting that republicans object to doing anything about immigration reform is a DNC sponsored "lie". What you are refusing to listen to is that everyone wants immigration reform, however most Americans want border enforcement first. Americans were given the shaft the last time comprehensive immigration reform was passed. We will not be fooled twice. And you can stop the impeachment nonsense. That's not going to happen, even though Obama and the demokrats are attempting to goad them into it.

When the criticisms they level are only leveled at hispanic immigrants and involve behavior that is completely legal, it is anti-hispanic rhetoric and has nothing to do with breaking the law.

At the current point in time, I think it is pretty apparent to everybody that Hillary will be the Democratic nominee in 2016. If you look at the total electoral count in safe states for each party is about 230-180 with the Democrats leading. One of the key toss-up states is Florida, which, if the Democrats win, could seal a defeat for Bush III. I think that the VP nominee in 2016 is a complete toss-up. Almost 100% assuredly the Republican nominee for president will be a middle aged white male, and the VP may a republican black man (Dr Ben Carson) or a woman (Susana Martinez.) I see both of those as better VP choices than Rob Portman or John Kasich.

Jeb gets the Repubs Florida. Kasich or Portman gets them Ohio.

The exact count is 247-191. The 247 are the total electoral votes from states that has gone Democratic in the last 4 presidential election, the 191 the same for the Republicans in the last 4 presidential elections. But first a caveat, if what I think is happening, that is if Obama fatigue sets in much like Bush fatigue did beginning in 2006 and last until the end of his second term like bush's did, then perhaps the above numbers need to be revised.

Jeb Bush as the Republican nominee should be able to add Florida bringing the GOP to 220. A loss of Florida would put the Democrats over the 270 number to win. So Jeb Bush makes sense. But I would rather have Kasich of Ohio than Martinez although Martinez could help with the Hispanic votes in other states. Kasich would ensure the GOP Ohio bringing their total to 238 with swing states of New Hampshire 4, Virginia 13, North Carolina 15, Iowa 6, Colorado 9 and Nevada 6 left to fight over.

Susanna Martinez would probably take New Mexico's 5 EV away from the Democrats and add them to the Republicans if she was the VP nominee. 242-225. But that puts Ohio back into contention as a swing state with 18 EV.

Then why do you suppose Repubs ran against BHO in 2014 (and won)? And Dems ran away from BHO in 2014 (and still lost)?

History has shown that running away from an unpopular president hardly ever works.

Jeb and Portman may not be able pass the "I'm bat sh!t crazy" test they call the republican primaries. Republican primary debates are so fcking awesome. Pure entertainment. Lmao!

Unlike Dem primaries which don't happen because of the blue blood mentality.

Jeb said in an interview that he believes he will need to lose some primaries in order to win the election.
