She is compromised. That much we know.

The only important thing is what Smith will do about it, if he can do anything right now.

Delays in trials are actually really common, especially high profile ones. It is not unusual for a case to take years to finally get to trial. The puke that murdered over 20 people at a Walmart here still hasn’t been to trial and he did that in 2019.

But that puke is sitting in a prison cell, isn't he? If Trump were sitting in a prison right now awaiting trial, I'd be fine with it.

Cannon complained of overwork, but over many months has not addressed even one of the 8 "issues" raised by the defense.

She is purposefully slow-walking this trial until after the 2024 election.

There is not much that Jack Smith can do because she has made no ruling at all that he can appeal and request her recusal.

A vivid example of Trumpism contaminating the US judiciary. Another vivid example is the US Supreme Court.

Same ol' story from the liberals and progressives.
If they don't get what they want from a court, from a judge, then the judge must be crooked.

Talk about denigrating the nation's institutions! (Yeah, that they accuse everyone else of doing - hint: it's really just a confession)

This should stir the pot to fever level.
No one, except maybe the very few, in Congress wants Trump's dire trials to begin before the election, as if they would somehow exacerbate an international embarrassment for this country that is already beyond repair. Can't have the people's government branches mocked around the world! :ROFLMAO:

They, and the people, are entitled to a speedy trial. This idea of putting off adjudication for years is a failure of our system, IMO. For people like Trump, it's a feature.
That’s true about the right to a speedy trial but, like most other rights, that can be waived. You’re not wrong, though, most of the time, delay benefits the defense.

You have it 100% backwards. The people are not entitled to a speedy trial. The defendant is. And he can waive that right if he wants.

She's loyal to Trump and returning the favor of being appointed by tossing him some bones by slow walking, failing to rule and now halting the trial.
It's possible but not likely that she may have this case removed from her and wind up being reprimanded.

The large majority of people waiting to go to trial are not in custody.
Depending on charges, yes. But there are a large number of people held in jail while awaiting trial.

Trump has dozens and dozens of felony counts. You think a normal person looking at even 10 felonies is free on some low ass bail? Hell, just the improper handling of classified materials can end up with someone without bond. Less they are rich.

Meanwhile, the "tough on crime" party cheers Cannon's obstruction.

The people are entitled to justice, and Cannon is working diligently to obstruct that. Justice delayed is justice denied and all that. If the trial can be pushed back until after the election and (shudder) Trump wins, his corrupt DOJ will just drop the case altogether. Everyone knows this.

As in any trial, the tradeoff between the people's and the defendant's rights is fundamental.

It's already BEEN years since these crimes.

Lawfare delayed is lawfare denied.
