Teacher Charged with Sex Abuse After 13-Year-Old Boy's Stepfather Discovers Text Exchange with Hearts: Police

The evidence is a heart emoji? I really need more detail on this story.

Yikes....maybe it's time to institute more extensive evaluations for new teachers, cameras in the classroom, rules about teachers never being alone with students, etc. These stories are far too common, both among male and female teachers.

And the same with churches, sunday schools etc. There are even more cases of children being sexually abused by their religious leaders.

I'd agree that they should be subjected to evaluations as well.

However, data over the past 20 years shows a much bigger problem among teachers than among religious clergy as far as the scope of sexual misconduct/abuse goes.

Can you share that data with us please. My perception based on the amount of media reports is the opposite, so it would be good to see what the real data is.

In Ontario (and most other provinces) anyone working in a school has to undergo a police check. Is that the case in US States?
