2010-2011 NHL Thread

Hats off to the Red Wings for their determination. I'd like to see them take the next one.

Yeah, game 6 and now game 7 are on my raid nights, so I can't pay close attention to it. Game 6 was pretty exciting, I wasn't quite sure how it was going to go particularly when Detroit went down a goal. But they got back into and won to push a game 7. It's going to be intense, I hope Detroit pulls it out.

If your computer can handle it I can PM you a link where you can at least listen to the games during your raid. I know when I raided on my PC, my laptop would have the Celtics/Bruins games on it.

Well I have a TV near my computer, it's just behind me...which in hindsight was not the best of ways to set up that room. So I can hear it fine, it's just that I'm tempted then to turn around and look when I hear good things instead of focusing on the boss we're fighting.

My friend and I use to play Madden during his MC runs when his main was a pally.
 
I'm getting worried about the situation here, if we end up moving I don't know what I would do. All I know is if the league doesn't fight for us, like they did Phoenix, I'm done with the NHL.

Right now the Atlanta situation is hard to get a good read on. Too many people doing the doom and gloom hoping to convince some one to buy it. It's not going to move this year, so I would not sweat it too much.

I'm not sure, I'm hoping something will get done, but I will not be surprised if the NHL, and our ****ty owners stab us in the back.

We’ve been working with him closely for a number of years in efforts to sell the franchise. Those efforts are ongoing. But there is nothing that has made sense to this point.”

Which is bull**** since the team couldn't be sold until very recently, (about 6 months ago) due to ASG being tied up in litigation with each other.
 
Good news for me personally: at my Mom's dogsitting, and not only does she have Versus, but At&T had Versus HD, so hockey in HD tonight!

Harsh. Oh so very harsh. Prediction for 2011-2012...Thrashers do better than the Devils in the regular season.

Was a great game last night and capped a great series. Every single game out of the 7 could have gone to either team. Not one game was anything other than close right to the end.

It's too bad that Atlanta is lacking in hockey fans like yourself and Redress. Otherwise, the Thrashers would have a permanent home.

**** Winnipeg.

And that is a misconception, we do have hockey fans here, alot. On any given night we could have around 30,000 people watching professional hockey, between the Atlanta Thrashers, and the Gwinnett Gladiators. This was before the owners mismanaged the team so badly, that no one wants to go to see the Thrashers. Atlanta Spirit Group(AKA The 8 biggest assholes to own a sports team) never wanted the Thrashers, they wanted the Hawks, and wanted to flip the Thrashers years ago, but they couldn't because they were in litigation for 5 years trying to buy out Steve Belkin(the former majority owner.) They never gave a crap about this team, hell in an interview on of our owners didn't even know the captain of the damn team. They let Don Waddell stay on as GM far too long, and that is what caused the ill will with the fans. After the disappointing year we had after we made the playoffs, and trading Hossa in a disappointing deal with the Pens, alot of the season ticket holders, and fans just said enough is enough, and cancelled their season tickets, until something was done. They still want to support the team, they just don't want to pay for a product that is being mismanaged. This season we were finally going in the right direction, and fans were starting to come back, and then all this **** happens. We never had a chance in Atlanta, we've never won anything, and the market hasn't been given time to grow, this is a hockey town, there are hockey fans here, we were just never given a chance.
