Milbury does work for Hockey Night In Canada. He is even worse there, where his idea of hockey is still revered by some.

I agree that it was not a brilliant thing to say, but he was pointing out the differences in style between he and Thomas and not that he is a better goalie.

I watch the CBC and in no way any announcer would ever say they want to see a player injured. They have made the point of trying to increase the traffic around the net, though.

** edit to add: none of the broadcasters on the CBC in any way cheer for any side apart from Don Cherry.

He Tivo'ed it and so I got to listen to it and while it wasn't like he said. But it wasn't to get traffic in front of the net because there was only three minutes left by then, the game was over. He said to just start getting in front and hitting him to mess with his head for the next game. That is how injuries happen. And they would use the pronouns we in referencing Van, like we need to hope the play better in Van to win there. It is small, but there is definitely cheer for Van. And it isn't a bad thing because NESN does it from time to time here too.

I don't know. I just think it was one of those things that came out differently than what he meant. Nothing else that he really said would support a theory that he just wanted Van to injury Timmy because let's be honest it would taint a win for Van in Game 7 if they went out with the intent to hurt Timmy.

Plus I will admit, when I heard heard it I was still pretty pumped after the game and I was just being protective of my team's goalie.

So, I just wanted to say before the game begins that MG it has been a joy going against you in two Bruin series. You were a good Van fan, unlike the two today that told me the hit on Horton was clean and he just flopped. And I tried to return that respect and not be like, sadly, a friend of mine who laughed and said pay back is a bitch when the Van player was hurt in Game 6. Saying that I will let you know how being a Stanley Cup winning fan feels like later :)! Black and Gold!!! #BelieveinBoston #Horton.
