Greatest NBA Team Ever!

You have to know what you are talking about to make a good point here and they are not MY great teams they are the NBA's GREATEST TEAMS EVER. Top Ten.

That's not true. I realize one can never defeat the argument of, my team is the greatest team ever is because they are the greatest team ever!.

P.S. Jordan is still no.1.

Ask Larry Bird....

You like to rely on outdated quotes and contexts.

You expect Magic to admit that Magic is the best ever?

There are many reasons why people think Jordan is the best and I have addressed many in this thread. IF you care to debate those that is fine but just tossing out a quote doesn't get into the details.

It's not just Magic or Bird, but virtually every single basketball expert, player, ex player, etc....

LeBron is #3? WTF? That list is evidence of the problem. People go with flash... with the NBA poster boy... the one marketed the most... it is pathetic.

Jordan and benefited from the hype and expansion of 6 NBA teams from '88-'95... SIX. Also, the Greats of the '80s were all retiring. Bird, Magic, Dr. J., Moses, Isaih, etc.

LeBron will probably end up Top Ten but #3 Already? Lame...

LeBron before Russell, Johnson and Bird? Skeptical.

Sorry... the ESPN list that was provided list the following as Top 100 Players of All Time:

22. Durant
23. Curry
28. Chris Paul
54. R. Westbrook
60. Pau Gasol
64. C. Anthony
66. M. Ginobili
67. T. McGrady
70. C. Webber
71. D. Howard
73. V. Carter
79. BLAKE GRIFFEN?

I am sorry... this Top 100 List is a JOKE.

Most of these guys? No Season MVP's, Finals MVP's, Championships or even Championship Appearences!

Mix in the Era mixing with Mikan at #33 and some of the other ridiculous placings?

Any of the 80 Celtics/Lakers/Pistons team would wipe the floor with GS. They're playing weakened NBA teams.

The Celtics and Lakers were historically good. I'm not convinced the Pistons would beat GS, since the officials actually call fouls now.

its easy to forget the great players of the sixties and seventies and lots of modern fans don't remember the Big O-a guy who averaged a TRIPLE DOUBLE one year back in the day when the way assists were awarded was more stringent and there was not three point goal. Using the modern definition of assist and three point scoring-his numbers would have been even more amazing

Harlem Globetrotters...but only the animated ones.

They also invented a host of new ones, like the hand-check and flagrant foul. Hell, the Pistons wouldn't even have any players left on the floor by the end of a game if those rules were in effect when they played MJ.

That so though, I probably would vote the Larry Bird Celtics as the best team over a decade in the modern era...with the Showtime Lakers right behind them.

Why would you think that I am out of touch? I watch the NBA daily (when it is on) and know full well their status and it is that knowledge that makes some of them ridiculous choices for Top 100.

Webber 5 time all star? Big whoop.
Howard a flop at every team... wow.
Carmelo? You can't be kidding me... guy is one of the most consistent losers of all time.
Chris Paul? Hasn't been to a finals, no MVPs... wonderful.
Ginobili... sure, big part of a winning team. Where is Byron Scott, Ron Harper, AC green, etc,.??
McGrady? Don't make me laugh.
Durrant, obviously Top 100 but 22nd? Ummm... what?
Westbrook? Hellz no. Maybe someday but not now.
Gasol, sure... that is my bad.
Curry? Obviously... but not 23rd YET. Next year... sure.

Why next year?

Hell, he is Top 100 now... I am just think not Top 25 yet.

Another ring... maybe another MVP? Guy will be up there.

Why next year?

Two titles going for three?

Curry looks like he should still be in college, but damn can he play. I'm not sold on him yet as a top 10 all-time player, but he is definitely making his way up the food chain.

I just had to resurrect this thread and post this.
