I am biased, but I think the Red Sox will return to the World Series.
We all already know that the Red Sox are a clutch team with clutch players.
Red Sox v. Angles - Granted, the Angles have dominated the season series and have 100 wins, but that 100 wins IS inflated against the AL Worst while the Sox played in a division of THREE 90 game winners and another with 86 wins. Furthermore, the Red Sox have won two ALDS series against the Angles on the way to World Series victories. Not to mention: Lester, Matzusaka, Beckett, and Byrd (yes, Byrd has been GREAT since the pickup). Red Sox take this one in four.
Rays v. Twins/White Sox - Rays get rest while the Twins and White Sox will likely battle it out on Tuesday. They use their rest along with their will to win to get to the ALCS. Rays in 5.
ALCS - Red Sox experience wins out over the spirited Rays. Red Sox in five. |

not to really derail, but I wonder if the impending economic collapse will affect the Steinbrenners so adversely that they couldn't go out and spend even more money on superstars due for a disappointing season.
