Current Mood: | #1 Usc Damn those Trojans!! My husband is a huuuuge USC fan so now I got to hear him gloat all the time about how good they are and how they are going to win the national championship. I have to grudgingly agree with him though. They got it going on this year. But damn it why does his teams gotta win and my teams gotta loose. I am not hearing the end of this ****! |

Seriously, the Trojans play a weak schedule, so unless the pollsters take the weakness of their schedule into account (like they so penalized UGA for its weak early schedule - and because it is Southern Cal, they won't) they will be in the title game against whoever survives the SEC grinder. Five top ten teams in the SEC, the top two last year were SEC teams. The SEC is the top conference, but that makes it really hard to imagine anyone surviving it without a loss. |

Dominate everybody early in the year, look like the run away best team in the country, and then lose to a Pac-10 cellar dweller late, knocking them out of the title game.

I don't know how they calculate who is what # seed, and unless I'm mistaken there's no one championchip game.
The whole system is completely over my head.
TED,
Had nothing worthwhile to contribute, just had to get that off his chest.

Southern Cal could not survive the SEC unscathed, as evidence by what happened to #3 Georgia and #4 Florida today. The conference is too tough, too deep, and too full of intense rivalries that the PAC-10 can't compete with.
1-A football needs a playoff system, like every other sport in NCAA not to mention with every other division of NCAA football. |
