Baseball All-Star Game

Well, it is the All-Star Break again.

Any thoughts? The AL has been dominant of late, and nothing suggests that the NL can break their losing streak this year EXCEPT that the AL has left one of its best pitchers (Daisuke Matsuzaka) off the roster. Terrible ommission.

I also saw a column about the fact that few players like that the All-Star Game determines home field advantage for the World Series. While I didn't like the old rotation, this isn't that great either. Personally, I think the league with the better interleague record for the season should get it. Comments?

The Texas Rangers will go down the tubes as usual after the all star break.

The American League once again has the better interleague record and should win this year's All Star Game.

For the playoffs, MLB should follow the other sports... best final record between opponents always has the home field advantage.

It baffles me that home field advantage for the World Series is determined by which league wins an exhibition game played by players who don't care if they win the game or not.

The team with the best regular season record should have home field advantage in the World Series. It's common sense... which is why Bud Selig doesn't understand it.

I don't have a problem with the all star game determining home field for the WS.....It gives them something to play for............I can understand why a NL fan might not like it though because they always lose the game............

But how is Bud Selig going to destroy baseball with something that makes sense like that? What's next? A serious steroid policy?

But baseball is different from other sports in that the number of games between the leagues is very limited compared to basketball and hockey. The NL is weaker as a whole. It would be easy for a team there not as good as the Red Sox, Angels, Rays, etc. to run up 100 wins and thus, get the home field in the world series.
