Actually, alot of these high profile athletes are so competitive it becomes very hard for them to simply let go of the game, especially when you can still play at a high level, and have a good team around you. I always knew it would be hard for him to let go of the game, and am not suprised by the reports of his desire to come back. I think he should stay retired, but I can understand he still has the desire to play football in the fall. Hell he has been doing it since he was a kid. How many of us are doing something that we started out doing in the 7th or 8th grade or even earlier?

Just make up your mind....I don't think that is to much to ask....... |

... All I know is, Favre doesn't have this much trouble making up his mind about an audible.

He retired to play baseball for a couple of years, but after he got sent down to the minor leagues he came back to basketball for another three years, after which he retired again. After that I'm pretty sure that at some point he played with the Bobcats and with the Wizards. He's retired at least 3 times, maybe 4.

Kareem did it until 42 years of age and that was great.
These guys just need to keep playing until they either aren't in the top of their game anymore, they get injured, or their team starts sucking, but then they should go to another team and keep playing until either of the first two happens. |

It's possible he's just screwing with the sportswriters, but he's also said myriad times in plain terms that he's not coming back. I think it's the writers and bloggers just making this crap up off the top of their heads about returning to camp.
