Well at least one person making a homer pick added the self admitted "I'm biased" at the start. ;)

Pretty sure with the inclusion of Danny Amendola and Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson, the list wasn't necessarily meant as an absolutely serious list. That's why I didn't bother to bring up Art Monk, as while he's definitely better than some of those on the list I'm not homerish enough to suggest he's in the "best ever" type of conversation. Top 25 territory? Sure, but not in there if legitimately talking about the #1 of all time type thing. There's a great number of Hall of Famers not included that would go before them. I can't stand the Cowboys, but Irving would be an example there.

Yes the list was certainly flawed. Monk did deserve to be in the conversation. And so did Lofton and others. How soon they forget.

And let's be clear. Pass happy and gentile it was not in those days.

Because of all the 'pass friendly' rules changes over the past 15 years this is an impossible 'best ever' to rate, IMO.

All the receivers in this poll are recent. Which is to be expected because is impossible to compare the receivers of today and the pass happy offenses of today to the days of Lynn Swan and Steve Largent and Fred Biletnikoff and the run first offenses of that era.. Same with QB's or then, and now.

as u know, my life is tomato farming. however, when the wife takes her sunday afternoon bingo classes, all i do is watch football. who is the best wide receiver ever? make ur case.

this is a public opinion poll so there will be no insult slinging.

25 Greatest Wide Receivers in NFL History

Best over a whole career is Rice. Best at any given moment, Moss.

While not the greatest of all time, it should be noted that when Steve Largent retired, he held ALL of the receiving records. And he did it having never worn gloves. And I will add, never did he play with an All Pro QB.

He most certainly is better than many on the list provided. Perhaps save just one Jerry Rice.

Great report here.

Steve Largent: A Football Life | Seattle Seahawks

Largent is probably in or very close to the top ten, IMO. But, I have a hard time putting him ahead of the Super Bowl guys like JerryRice , Lynn Swan, Randy Moss (although this one really had a gift for wasting his talent), Paul Warfield, Cliff Branch, Michael Irvin, Drew Pearson and a few others.

I forgot about Paul Warfield. Another great receiver from before the pass happy offenses of today.

1. I'd put Largent ahead of Swann.

2. Randy Moss never won a super bowl.
